Killed my Deltalite 2512

Everything seems fine.
I forgot how much stuffing this cab had in it. Studio foam egg crate. 2" thick at the valkeys, 3.5" at the peaks. I got the cab this way and never took it out. I've been told this stuff doesn't work in the first place (in this application).
Should I remove it? Does it work and I'm losing a ton of box area/volume?

The box's internal dimesions would be, if not for the egg crate 14.5" d, 17" h, 17" w.
With the crate (measuring half way thru it's peaks and valleys) it's like 12x12x11.
I don't know if I should remove it or not.
The port tube's I.D. is 3", and it's 6 5" long

The egg crate foam is at least 85% air by physical volume, so you are not losing nearly as much as you think. It does look like you could take some out though.
That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw how much inside wire there is. Definitely remove some of the foam, you can always put it back if you dislike the way the sound changes. You should get a lot more midrange with less foam. Then see if you can secure the excess wire away from the back side of the cone with a wire tie or something similar. Good luck, Bob

I wouldn't change a thing based on the fact that the speaker seems to have actually survived a pretty aggressive gig! If I'm not completely wrong (I often am), low tuned ports are somewhat protective of the speaker at the expense of maximum SPL, similar to a sealed cab. Other than adjusting the amount of foam lining, I'd keep it as is.
It is good that you tracked that down.
Since you play aggressively, you might still consider upgrading to the Kappalite.
More sensitive, More power handling, More SPL.

Thank you.Foam isn't going to change your internal volume calcs much, but likely change the midrange character. If you like it as is, leave it alone
My usual stuff isnt at all aggressive, just this group... infrequent at best. If I do blow it up at some point, I will likely go 3012ho
No disrespect to Bobby, I think the tensile wires are the the ones from the speaker binding posts through the cone to the voice coil.
