KLOS 6 String Bass

I actually like the look of the bass but I just can't deal with the electronics and for over $3,000.00 you'd think maybe they would use a Hipshot bridge or something in that range but they are using some bridge made in Korea.

Well use your BRAIN!!!! Company trying to save money and cut corners by using a cheap quality bridge instead of a bridge that has proven to be a quality bridge for a $3,000 instrument. "THAT'S HOW EXACTLY"
Apart from being rude, you failed to explain how a Hipshot is going to make a performance increase over an otherwise competently engineered and built bridge that's not made by them. A bass bridge is not rocket science and even a well engineered bent plate works fine in most instances.

So, it's now up to you to 'use your rain' and explain why it's better. I'll wait...

I wouldn't sleep on, say, Sung-Il (Korean make) bridges. They are really nice, especially for the price. Sturdy, rugged, quality pieces. I have one on my LTD and it's one of my favorite bridges. If Sung-Il bridges were more readily available, I would totally use them if I needed to upgrade or replace a bridge.

Honestly your the one that decided you were going to start an issue instead of keeping your comments to your self, so I'm done dealing with your condescending self.

It's a public forum, so I'm allowed to comment, and it's expected or the forum would cease, so 'keeping my comments to myself' is particularly inane.

As for condescending, get a mirror, but I've always found that people who hold a particular POV that's well thought out (on any subject) can articulate it without resorting to ad homs. Hipshot bridges are great (I have 2 that came with basses I bought), but as someone who has designed and engineered many commercial products from aerospace to audio, I can't see how adding another $100 or so in cost for the HS will make any difference to this bass beyond marketing and as it's already an expensive bass, and most likely a very competent bridge, why it would make commercial sense to add it in. Though I doubt you will, I'm still open to hearing why it would.

To me, that sounds a little muddy on lower notes played above the 5th fret or so. Might be the electronics, because it was better when he played in single coil mode briefly.

Harder to find graphite neck instruments these days than it was ~15-20 years ago. Nice this is out there.

I gotta say, I really like the looks of these and I'm glad they ditched the small stub headstock of the older models. I'm still not sold on the Fluence system though. To be fair, my experience with it has been limited to about 10 minutes of noodling around on a lower end Schecter. Thankfully, the $3200 price point is enough to keep the G.A.S at bay for something I might not get on with tonally.

Well, OP went strange about the Hipshot bridge. It may be a cost-saving decision, but unless that bridge doesn't perform properly, all that's really happening is Klos is able to price the bass some amount cheaper. The company saving money is the customer saving money. The bass would cost more with a Hipshot B bridge on it. Same with the tuners. It would cost more with Ultralites on it.

In general, I like that there's more available in the CF neck bass market. I hate the neck joint on that 6. I had to take a look and it seems to me that they engineered the joint for the 4 string and then just mill the wider neck pocket in the 5 and 6 string basses rather than either designing a neck joint that works properly for all three string configs or having the body machined differently in that area on the 5 and 6 string bass. That's something I'd personally expect to see on a bass that costs this amount, which isn't budget, but also isn't high-end either.

I have played the Fishman's and I don't like them for what I play. To me, they do the specific thing that they do and they do that well from the videos I've watched featuring basses with them, but for what I do I really don't like them. There is an SD Blackout option, which I'd take, but it's still getting into a similar tone space as the Fishman.

The price range is creeping into G Gould territory at this point, and that's the bass I'm currently saving for. I share the sentiment offered here of appreciation for more CF options in the market, but the demo posted didn't do much for me.
I think if I was going after a CF neck bass it would be one of Geoff's basses. A GGi6 would be a lovely bass to own.

I just noticed that Geoff uses the balance/blend knob wired backwards like Sadowsky.

As I recently mentioned in the G.Gould Club thread:
Pro tip for folks who get irked by ^^^this: If you remove the knob from the pan pot and reinstall it with the indicator line pointing down rather than up, the pan function now makes perfect sense! Rotate the knob clockwise, the indicator line points to the bridge pickup, and you're hearing the bridge pickup. Rotate the knob counter-clockwise, the indicator line points to the neck pickup, and you're hearing the neck pickup.

It’s actually a very nice bridge. I had the Apollo Standard 4 string and I loved the bridge. I’ve been looking at the 5 string in recent days but the difference in price between a 4 and a 5 is around 1000 bucks and I can’t get my head around that. However Klos do make a very nice bass, neck is slick and the inhouse blackout pick ups sound great!
