KNOB MODIFICATION

hello fellow low enders..

im about to install an dual emg 35dc system into my schecter c4 xxx bass (no longer in production) now.. the knobs have a distinct finish to them, cant be replaced. and to keep from putting other knobs on there.. ultimately i want to keep it as close to factory spec as i possibly can as far as the cosmetics go

all im doing is changing the pups

the shafts from the pots on the emg system are solid shaft. the holes on the knobs are split shaft however, they do like they would fit the emg pots that are provided.. do you think if i used a dremel at low speed to smooth out the knob hole enough to fit the emg smooth shaft nicely ?

yes and it does have a set screw.. ill post a couple pics of the knob and all..

they are rare now.. came from a schecter c4xxx.. brushed aluminum finish or somethin like that.. i talked to tech support this morning and told the dude what i am wanting to do.. left me with no option but to modify these..

This was the only bass I've even bought just because I thought it was freaking beautiful. I shouldn't have sold it (probably wouldn't have if I have had put dc40's in it. I wound up not liking the tone of it as much as my yamaha with 45dc's

Now I'm playing a Fanned fret bass with 45dc's in it. I guess I'm a fan...

ill agree with that.. but overall it played great.. neck felt awesome.. got to love schecter.. they did a matching guitar.. it was a special edition.. i havent seen one of these except twice.. im wanting to get another one and soup it up somethin sick ! bridge, all new hardware.. emg active pups of course..

Yes, that will work perfect, and EMG 35DC Double Humbuckers, SWEET!!

Active EMG 45DC Double Humbuckers, Awesome choice! And on a fanned fret also, SWEET!
