I've heard alot of ideas about feildy. Some say hes a talented bassists others say hes terrible and i would like to know the opinions of other bassists

I think there are a few opinions in there.
Edit: On topic- my opinion is he does what he does, he/they are hugely successful(commercially speaking)& I am not terribly impressed. Not jealous, not much anything.

I hope you know you are about to open up a bashing/flaming session.... Fieldy to me fits Korns style of music but he is very limited to that one style of playing and although I think his tone or lack of worked pretty well for Korn.... I'm not a huge Fieldy or Korn fan but I sure as hell won't bash him/them either.....

I like pronouncing "Feildy" with a thick German accent.
Anywho, the guy made interesting sounds that suited the style. That said, it ends up being sort of a one-trick pony and not something worth imitating - the minute you try to emulate the sound, you're just "that guy that plays like Fieldy".

His work with Creep is more tolerable than with Korn, no doubt about it. I think this is the second thread in which I gave the exact same opinion today.
Love him or hate him, his sound is instantly recognized. I'm sure he cries all the way to the bank while driving a car with a stereo that has all bass, tons of clanky treble and no mids.
