Kubicki club, part 2

The BOOM setting is fun but I've struggled to find much use for it live. Most rooms suck for boom, just turns to mush. :\ I've thought about some cool synth thing to try with that setting in the studio. Haven't got around to trying it yet.

It's all about context, right? I prefer to create (and hear!) unique tones. I don't even own a p-bass! Not knocking them, I see the appeal. I just wanna be different. :cool::bassist:

Hello. This is my ‘89 fretless original.
I want a fretted neck since i dont use fretless often now. I think its a shame put frets on it. Do you know if Kubicki sells fretted neck? The price is prohibitive?
If someone has a extra fretted neck for sale please let me know!

Contact Carla Kubicki through the official site. She will sell you a fretted neck. Approximately 1K ballpark.

Wow - that's double from the mid 90's when I bought a fretless neck from Phil. I understand as they are low production and available - $500 was a lot back then also.

Cool colour - haven't seen that on on a Factor. :cool: Your neck can be re-fretted by a skilled luthier, they will most likely charge a bit more to re-cut the slots but will be more affordable than a new fretted neck. If you go that route, be sure and have it Plek'd - well worth the extra expense.

When I got my fretless neck, I added abalone side-bars to help me visualize what I was familiar with position-wise on my fretted neck. It was all done by hand, but with modern laser guided cuts it could be cleaner.

Wow. Ok. Well. I haven’t corresponded with her in some time. Sorry for that. She used to be cool about it but now that ExFactors are “technically” available again perhaps the rules have changed a bit.
Ummm call Mike Haney AKA Guitar doctor independently. Perhaps he can help you out.

Edit. Also....I have that same color. Fretted. 90. It’s my only 9V.

We both were on the verge of getting our stuff sorted the way we wanted. I just missed a deal on a local CL ExFactor. Had I gotten it I was going to contact you about the swap you were looking for.
As it turns out, the seller and I know each other, had done deals in the past, and are close geographically. Problem was, we didn't know who was who until later... too later. A series of texts and we were both suppose to be out of town last weekend, to resume this week. After I return, I see his ad has dropped off CL, I contact him and he says a buyer in Frisco bought it.. I congratulate him on the sale and he says..no problem, I still have my "insert unique bass here". I knew instantly who he was and identify myself. He says "damn, I was going to contact you about this before listing it".
My heart sank.... damn, damn, damn.

Anyway, that's my SOB story. Sorry I couldn't close the deal.

Ya'll have seen BOTH of these MANY times...
I'm at a point where I (almost) feel bad for letting them waste away in the closet.
The Yellow one, is an '86 PRE FSC, that I got (literally from Phillips hands) in '87.
The White one, is a '90 FCS.

No... You CANNOT have the Yellow one. No way. No how. EVER (long story).

But... talk me into keeping BOTH. Or... talk Me into selling/trading You the White one...
Take Your time.

Actually... I must admit... The Yellow one was purchased for Me by a Rich, Ex-Girlfriend (in 1987). And... the White one, I got BEFORE the prices went through the roof.
My career doesn't allow for much personal time, aaannnnnnd... as You can see, there are TWO of these "sitting around."
