accumulation, aggregation, assemblage, assembly, association, assortment, band, batch, battery, bevy, body, bunch, bundle, cartel, category, chain, circle, class, clique, clot, club, clump, cluster, clutch, collection, combination, combine, company, conglomerate, congregation, coterie, covey, crew, crowd, faction, formation, gang, gathering, grade, league, lot, mess, organization, pack, parcel, party, passel, platoon, pool, posse, set, shooting match, society, sort, suite, syndicate, troop, trust.

This one is using GROUP.

Kinda like syndicate. Sounds Mob'ish
Or, Kubicki Conglomerate. Sounds "Big Business"

Hey, some of us Slobs, have to work. Lets see, your "On Vacation" and your up before NOON. That's a crime in itself.

Hey, what G&L are you looking at. I have a L-1000 1980's early. I installed a Jazz pickup at the bridge. Sounds awsome but what a BOAT ANCHOR....

Call you in awhile.

Yeah, sure, WE'RE on vacation, but we had to bring the KID, and at only ten months old, he doesn't yet appreciate the rare, sweet luxury of sleeping in on vacation. As far as he's concerned, when the sun comes up, so should the whole family... :bawl:

That L2K sounds kinda interesting... I'm looking for an early- to mid-90's L2K or L25K. (I was a huge G&L guy for years, but in '97, G&L ruined their body designs and their awesome 'tri-tone' circuit).

I'm keeping a close eye on on this one...

With a wistful tear of regret, I must resign my membership to this esteemed club.

After longing for a Kubicki for years and years, I finally scored a tremendous deal on one last year. I believed in my heart of hearts that I had bought the last primary bass I'd ever own. The sound — after a brief learning curve — was and is, the absolute best sound I've ever heard from a bass guitar. A delight to the ears with every note... Even my frequent wrong ones...

But sadly, I've found that even after a year, I just cannot get comfortable with the short scale, light weight, and headless design of my treasured Kubi. I wish I could have — I really do — but it's just not going to happen for me.

So she's going back home to Cali, into the deserving and capable hands of Pkaaso, who, I believe, will love her like she deserves. I'm glad she's yours, Poul.

As for me, I'm going back to my first really good bass — the great big, heavy StingRay. I gave up my first 'Ray 15 years ago when I was starving and living in my car in the Buffalo winter of '98. Now, I have a bright, spankin' HH on her way from Canada.

Hasta Luega, Fellers. Yer a fine buncha coconuts! See ya at the bar.

A sad day....Bets of luck in your quest for another friend...The HH sounds cool!!

Well, I got Tim's bass on Tuesday (thanks Tim) and haven't set it down since. Been to 2 rehearsals with it and re-strung it last night. Have two gigs this weekend, tonight and tomorrow. I normally play a 4 and 5 string but, I'm trying to incorporate the Kubicki to cover both. The D drop manuver while playing is easy but remembering it's NOT a 5 is tricky. I'm having to relearn a few songs.

Long story short: What an AWSOME bass! Just the way it hangs on me is worth it. Plays like a dream. I get what you guys have been ranting/raving about. I will get some pictures up first chance.

Tim, I'm glad to hear your excited with your new Stingray.

Nothing eases the heartache of saying goodbye to a great lady like hearing that she's now being well-loved and truly appreciated. I thought that we were meant for each other, but if I was only a stop on her way to her real home, that's allright: I'm glad to have been part of her story. I'll really look forward to seeing her onstage with you soon!

And playing my brand-new HH StingRay is like welcoming home an old love that you thought you'd outgrown. My first real bass was a StingRay, (a '77). It seems now like every bass I've owned since leaving her behind 20 years ago was just a rebound flame: they were younger and sexier... But deep down, I guess I was really always waiting for my first love to come back.

Of course, my ORIGINAL 'Ray is long-lost, but her 'daughter' here has some assets momma never imagined. I'll quit before I get so deep into the metaphors that I get a note from the mods... But lemme just say: Momma was a 'classic, natural beauty', sorta busty and not very shy: Baby is a scandalously bodacious exhibitionist blonde with a bag full of nasty toys and a mean streak!!! Spending time with her always leaves me feeling too good for my own good, if ya know what I mean... Like I got away with something reaaally bad... but reeaally good...

;)

Dear friends of the Kubicki Collective, I'm on the right way to buy an old post Fender Ex Factor, but the seller told me something quite disturbing.
The serial number is 31XX (11-92) which, according to the usual site http://mc2.freeservers.com/kubickifacts.htm
should be one of the first post fender kubickis.

SN#000-1286 is a REAL Pre-Fender Kubicki Factor or Ex Factor
SN#1287-3050 is a FENDER Kubicki
SN#3051-present is a REAL Post-Fender Kubicki Factor or Ex Factor

BUT the owner says the bass has a FIVE positions preamp and a 18v electronics.
Sounds so weird to me, five positions = fender but 18v = kubicki
Does anyone have a clue about it ?

Is there any visible/optical difference in the electronics compartment between the fender electronics and the kubicki original one ?

Would any of you be so kind to take a high res photo of the opened compartment of a fender kubicki and an original one please ? just to be sure.
Thanks a lot.
