Well I hope the truth comes out and if foul play involved, the culprits caught and punished - but I don't really want to follow or even know. It's just too sad and depressing.
THere were a couple of documentaries about htis several years back, and there cops in those documentaries who were not convinced it was suicide. I've believed the murder allegations form the beginning, especially when faced with the evidence that soeone with that much heroin in their system could not have managed the shotgun in that scenario. I hope whoever did it is brought to justice.
Will be interesting to see how this thread winds up.
I haven't watched the video nor do I think I will. Still feeling the loss of my best friend in October to apparent suicide yet there are MANY unanswered questions involving a highly questionable significant other who has since stolen one of his vehicles and moved to another state.
Kurt's death when I was a teenager was drastic among my core groups of friends. I wasn't nearly the fan my friends were but it affected us all for sure. But new evidence pointing to possible murder? I REALLY hope the truth is uncovered.

Well, if they do re-examine it and call it a homicide. That completely changes the narrative . The police will open the case back up and the first question they will ask is. Who had the most to gain if Kurt Cobain died? Fairly sure the answer to that will be Courtney Love. Whatever the outcome this case has enough evidence to make it worth another look.
The guy talked and sung about suicide and depression. He also had a family history of it. Add to that drug addiction and his disdain for being a public figure and you have a perfect storm. None of those closest to him think it was anything else.
After all these years, this new revelation comes from a guy who just happens to have a novel coming out roughly based on the Cobain story. Very convenient.
The information at the top of this video did not contain any information I hadn't seen in the documentaries on his death over 5 years ago. It's not new information, though it may be a new book.

I'm a native Seattleite, gen Xer who lived thru the whole grunge thing. On local cable public access there was a series of "Kurt Cobain Was murdered" shows all hosted by the same unhinged conspiracy kook. He would scour the evidence for inconsistencies, ambush officials involved in the investigation, weave plausible counter narratives and so on. I thought it was hilarious.
Now I live in Dallas and any day of the week you can go down to Dealey plaza , check out the book depository and the grassy knoll, along with the two big X's painted on the road where the bullets struck JFK. And, most days, there an author with a table set up selling their latest book.
Personally I am a fan of Occam's razor.

Ah yes, good ol' Richard Lee.
I worked with him at the UW student newspaper, The Daily, where he had a pretentious film criticism column ("Eye On Cinema"). I don't think he was an actual student, he just needed a publication outlet for his ramblings. He was annoying and hilarious in equal measure.
It would be terribly difficult to prosecute a murder indictment to a murder conviction at this point in time.
Too much "reasonable doubt" will get thrown against the wall, especially if Courtney Love is the suspect.
