They are clear nylon over stainless strings.

Hey Jason...been using the standard issue black tapes on my Rob Allen fretless.Tried the whites and found them too twangy,back to blacks.How do these white copper strings compare to the blacks tone and feel wise?I am about to change strings and would love to move on a set if they sound like they'll sound right.Thanks

I'm horrible I know, I have a set here staring at me... I'm going to be putting them on and doing some sound clips very soon, hopefully tomorrow. If anyone wants to hear them played with any particular technique let me know and I'll do it!

I don't have a short scale set.

After I play them on my long scale I can sacrifice the set and put on my Starfire or Coronado though! Actually, since I already have La Bella Black Tapes on my Starfire that would be a good comparison!

How's the longevity? I want a set on my Aria ProII, but I play it constantly. It get several hours per week of live time and twice that in practice time. I've never used tapewound. Last as long as flats? More than rounds?

Also I've heard the black tape are great on acoustic bass guitar. True?

Tapewounds last an incredibly long time... There's no metal you can touch and for you finger oils to affect. They don't last forever, but I'd guess a good set of tapes would last longer than a good set of flats.

Just ordered the thicker set (with the .115) for my short scale Ibanez 30.3" semi-hollow, which I tune DGCF. Looking forward to trying this set up out.
