La Bella Gold White Nylon Tapes

I put a set a these on my new bass with gold hardware and really like the tone and feel. Kind of like a nice round wound tone but with that flat feel. Certainly, if you prefer Stainless Super Brights, this isn't your set. I have used flats a lot until recently and now have a nice mix of both. I started looking for a set of gold strings when I bought the bass with gold frets and hardware. I thought it would look sharp, but I had to find a set with a tone I could relate to as well. So, I got the best of both wolds.

I would also like to give kudos to the La Bella company for quickly and easily resolving a small issue I had with the B string. A replacement was sent with very few questions and the new string is perfect.

I just found out about these strings and have been looking all over for a photo and review. Silly me, I should have looked right here on TB first!

Thanks for posting one of the best photos I've found of them. This really shows what they look like. The bass I want them for is a Yamaha Motion B in translucent green with gold hardware. These strings will certainly look fantastic on there, and from your review, they should be just what I want for the medium scale bass.

Hope you're still loving them!

The strings were great. I've sold the bass they were on and I'm full on flats now. I'd easily put them back on another bass.

Rehearsal was canceled last night - artist's wife reminded him of a social commitment - what to do? Change strings on my fretless and practice with new strings!

I bought a set of LaBella Gold White Nylon tape wounds a while ago to replace the regular white nylons I've been using for a while, and just haven't had time to dedicate to changing strings (including a good cleaning and setup). I was attracted to them by the description of them as LaBella's brightest tape wound strings.

All I can say is - WOW! Everything I liked about the regular white nylons is more so with these. Almost a roundwound sound, but with that smooth tape wound feel. My bass needed almost no changes to setup, I lowered the action just a tiny bit, mwah for days!

The only problem now is that I want to spend all day playing this bass, and I have other things I need to get done....
