La Bella Olinto Club

I'm probably not gonna get the used one on here. I'm not a huge fan of shipping when I can just hop on the subway to the La Bella Showroom. The extra money I spend buying new directly from the cats at the shop pays for a new bass AND piece of mind.
Although I should ask, what price point are new Olintos starting at these days?
It's only been a few hours so I'm gonna stew in my indecision for a bit a while. But really, there's no reason I can get a Maruszczyk AND and Olinto, and hold off on an amp until I need an amp, or just get a practice amp or something used locally.

Really appreciate it! Yes, they are wonderful basses. I would not be giving this up if it weren't for moving costs to the Great Southern Ocean.
Is there anyone in Northern California with Olinto they'd be willing to let me try? I could bring along a Moollon J5 just for the heck of it.
Hey y'all wanted to post a little Olinto action. I used mine for this track (my bass comes in at 2:29 for the second half of the song)
It's a beautiful, natural sounding bass. My thoughts about it are if the Olinto doesn't work for a song then electric bass probably isn't the right instrument for the part, cuz it just sounds so clear and good and classic.

That 'sloppy on purpose' feel/note-placement, is right on time, and awesome. Great playing. Bass probably helped too!

@ElMon and others: How is the B string on the Precision model? I'm interested in a five-string Precision, but I'm worried the B string might sound too muddy/undefined without a bridge pickup.
If you're 'B String Tonal Goals' are:
'Hear the wire in the piano clarity', or …
'Modulus, 35" scale, fresh out of a deep freezer and played North of the Arctic Circle Levels of Cold Clarity'
It's not on that level.
But …
For me, who likes a 'come from underneath and spread around the band' tone, that a P-setup with flats is (IMO) superior at, the Olinto P5 is incredible. Every note from Low Eb down to open B is a strong pitch, clearly-defined, and at least on mine … alder/braz rw, and Chrome Flats with a foam mute … every one of those low B notes hits like an 808 Keyboard level of gooey bass.
It's hands down my #1 these days, on the rare occasions I get out.
Have NOT tried it with rounds, full disclosure. Don't plan on it.

my great Olinto P bass. I changed the bridge but I still have the original bridge. It has a marble wood fingerboard on an Alder body with a passive 10 position Tonestyler . A Fantastic P Bass!!!
