La Bella - roundwounds to flatwounds

Hello everybody,
I'm thinking about switching to flats on my 2012 Am Standard P bass. It is currently strung with a set of La Bella light roundwounds (760RL). I'm going to buy online, so no chance to try before buying.
Do you think I'm going to be ok with a set of light flats (760FL)? Speaking about tension and overall feeling, though knowing that rounds and flats are a different game.
I'm curious about the new La Bella's Low tension flexible flats, but they are not available yet in EU stores, so they're out of reach for me now.
Thanks for any advice I'm going to get! Feel free to prompt me to previous threads, also!
Bye, u.

I'd recommend putting a set of Thomastik JF344's on as an intro to flatwounds. They are very flexible and feel great. You can also string them through body. Labella Flats aren't recommended through body(and I wouldn't try as you could have breakage issues).

you gotta try the TI's man.
I just put a set on my precision and I immediately ordered another set for my hollowbody.
the feel is where the money is.

I have the LaBella "Deep Talkin' " 760 flats on my American Standard P Bass - they are just PERFECT for this instrument. This is the classic P Bass sound, and the strings feel great without too much tension and will last forever. I really like the TIs, but not for the P Bass, and they are double the cost. I don't like Chromes - they have a bit of an upper mid-range "honk" and the finish is not as nice and smooth as on the LaBellas and TIs. You can't go wrong with the 760s.

True that LaBella put some kind of warning against using their string through body. I don't know if the warning's for all LaBella Flatwound Strings or only for the type that I know - Deep Talkin' Flats 760M.
But in my experience, I use that very strings through body of my Sting P-Bass. Everything is OK for 8 years now. No problem at all. except maybe one small problem: the nylon wrapper of the E string sits on the nut slots. But no problem at all except visual.

And I agree with @Bassamatic that it's Perfect. for me tho, Because I don't think it's an 'everybody's string'.

I did use chromes and like them, but when I finally changed to LaBellas it was amazing. That was the sound. Full on Babbitt. They just make me want to play Motown. Also, I think they feel much smoother to the touch.
