LA Times article on Mike Watt

Great article. Yeah, ‘Pedro(pronounced ‘pee-dro’)is it’s own little rough and tumble world, nestled on the side of a giant hill, overlooking the docks(on the other side of the mini-mountain is the pricey Palos Verdes, might as well be on a different planet). Two of the scariest bridges will take you over the port to Long Beach.

What a great read. I've noticed in YouTube clips of Watt playing with Flipper recently that he's using a new production iteration of his signature bass, with the triplet P pickup like the one on his homepage and what looks like a metal-covered humbucker at the neck. Also, the headstock is painted the same color as the body (Watt yellow). I've always admired the way he tinkers with his gear. His creativity is otherworldly.
