Here's my 55-01D...

As far as the cost of modding it, I shelled out a little over $400 for everything. That included the pickups that were $217, all the labor, parts, and rouing for the double battery box...
The pre is the original Korean pre-amp (the MK1, IIRC)...
I have been tempted to upgrade (the electronics and pups), but as time goes
on I have grown fonder and fonder of this bass as is, though I think I maybe
will upgrade eventually, just out of curiosity, if for no other reason.
My Valenti fretless 5er has Nordy fatstacks and an Aggie OBP-3
Preamp. That combination is just killer, but I am open to other ideas.
Maybe the new Lakland electronics and pups? Capnsandwich's bass
strikes me as a great way to go, too.![]()
BTW-thanks for a great thread!!!![]()
I'd love to hear your setup!!!55-01, Nordstrand Big Splits, Sadowsky 2-band w/VTC

Great Idea!
can I join even though I do not have a -01 series bass?
I would like to be number 911 (in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11).
Doug

Im liking that combo, esp a passive setup. No chance one could just drop the Nordy's in place of the stock pups and be done using the stock pre? Are the Nordy's just drop in place or did it reuqire some mod to install them? Finally, can anyone recommend someone in the Houston area that can do this type of work well? Gotta learn how to use my new digicam to post a pic here.![]()
The retired Inca Silver.
You have to describe the tone!
Do the 4 string Nord's drop right into a 44-01? I think I've only seen this done on a 55-01.
Hell, it was your idea!
Or course you can join!
You'll be Lakland 01 Club Member #911!
How's that?
