Great Idea!

can I join even though I do not have a -01 series bass?

BTW: isn't Fibonacci a type of bread? I LOVE Fibonacci bread!!!!

I would like to be number 911 (in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11).

The pre is the original Korean pre-amp (the MK1, IIRC)...

Well maybe CapN lucked out with the NTMB preamp?

I have been tempted to upgrade (the electronics and pups), but as time goes
on I have grown fonder and fonder of this bass as is, though I think I maybe
will upgrade eventually, just out of curiosity, if for no other reason.

I have certainly enjoyed mine for the past 3 years...

My Valenti fretless 5er has Nordy fatstacks and an Aggie OBP-3
Preamp. That combination is just killer, but I am open to other ideas.
Maybe the new Lakland electronics and pups? Capnsandwich's bass
strikes me as a great way to go, too. :bassist:

Fatstacks and OBP-3? Hmmm...
The LH3 is a killer pre. It does add some grit to your tone which maybe perfect. It certainly is for the 5502...

BTW-thanks for a great thread!!! :hyper:

Absolutely!!!

So far we have the following combinations:

OEM MK1 - PuP's & Pre
OEM NTMB & Nord Big Singles @ 18v
Nord DC's Passive with Parallel/Single/Series Switching
Nord Big Splits with Sadowsky 2 Band and VTC
NTMB-L with Nord DC's

Let's keep 'em rolling!

Im liking that combo, esp a passive setup. No chance one could just drop the Nordy's in place of the stock pups and be done using the stock pre? Are the Nordy's just drop in place or did it reuqire some mod to install them? Finally, can anyone recommend someone in the Houston area that can do this type of work well? Gotta learn how to use my new digicam to post a pic here. :rollno:

My set up has an active/passive switch but if you just wanted passive I'm sure you could do that. As far as the Nordy's being a perfect fit, pretty much a straight drop in. There's a little more room on the longer side toward the neck but not enough to really worry, maybe 3mm.
