Haha! Ya I guess so. Forgot how nice passive 4-string jazz basses sounded (slap happy too). Like the new avatar Markus.

Put black beauties on the 4-94 fretless. Much more to my liking, but I think I need to put some bow into the neck...it's almost completely flat when I "fret" 1st fret and 12 and push down on 7. A little less relief (or more, not sure what the term is), drop the saddles a bit and it will be killer with new strings.

More Than I Hoped For: Decade... I think.

I have a very special Lakland 55-94 that was built by Ed Reynolds whom from what I have read is one of the best Luthier's in the business and one of Lakland's top consultant's. It is signed and dated 2006 by him on the inside backplate of the control cavity. Alder Body with Matching Headstock, Daphine Blue Nitro Finish including the back of the Neck, Bartolini Pickups and Preamp. I just put the Black Abalone screwless Pickguard on it which looks pretty cool. I was initially going to put a White or Vintage White Pearl Pickguard on it. What do you guys think? It sounds and plays fantastic. I am new to the forum and this is my first post. Hopefully I will learn more as I go.

Wow, very nice! Congrats on picking that one up. Ed Reynolds is, by all accounts, excellent. He refretted the Fender '57 reissue Precision I later bought, and it plays like a dream. Carl Pedigo, Lakland's head luthier, has seen and admired the fretwork of the bass--Ed is definitely one of his big influences. Oh, and welcome to TB!

Thanks so much. I talked with ED and he told me he built 2 of these Basses. One Daphine Blue (the one I have) and one Seafoam Green. It's definitely unique. The Nitro finish is a nice touch. I put the Black Abalone PG on it which has some blue & grey in it that looks cool. Do you think a White or Vintage White Pearl would look better? I need some opinions. If anyone knows more about this let me know. It's definitely a fantastic Bass. I'm just leaning how to post and reply.
