say hello to my little friend

So about 2 minutes ago I ordered an M80 bass case and strap for my DJ5. Sweet comfort upgrades to an already great bass.

This got me thinking about other similar upgrades. Like, what would you guys recommend for a portable stand? I have the Fender stand, but with the jazz shape the bass is at risk of falling off of it all the time... no good. Also, what do you think the best strap lock is for Lakland basses?

I also want to get the bass PLEK'd and a Jeannie's pg, but that's a different story altogether.

I like my hercules stand...it 'grabs' the headstock at the nut to hold the bass. it is adjustable and folds up/gets shorter for easier portability.

Personally i like the dunlop dual design locks. After that, are the dunlop flush mount locks.

Plek it if it needs it, but a good setup/neck cleanup might take care of any problems you might be having.

Pickguards are a great way to spice it up, btw.

Yeah, the Dunlop strap locks are what come on the US Lakies. I like them a lot. And you can't go wrong with a pickguard upgrade from Roger at Jeannies....

Humongous +1 for Hercules. I originally bought it because my Fender reissue has a nitro finish, and the rubber bars that basses sit on on most stands eats into the nitro. Great design in general.

yeah...pootube is still processing...here are the links...

55-94 playing demo - goofed on mid freq mentioned in the vid. :hiding:

...also had to cut out nearly my entire intro in the proto vid because it was 11 mins total length and youtube cuts it at 10 mins.

Cool stuff, thanks for posting it. I'm digging the proto, as I expected. One strange thing, though--you don't sound insane. :D

My plasma pen of coarse! No...some how missed the 16 in 1680:-)

hehe, yeppers...we just like giving you a hard time in the Lovers of Grammar thread.
