I just saw Earth Wind & Fire with Chicago at the Nokia Theater in LA last night. awesome show!

As expected, Jerry Scheff was sporting his 4-94 all night. It was a deep red one instead of the white one he was using on the EWF/Chicago DVD. The color is very close to the custom black cherry 44-02 that buffordbass is selling. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=566784.

His headstock had a sticker on top of the lakland logo ... 'XS'. Anyone know what this stands for?

Verdine was great and energetic as usual. Actually all of them still have 'it'. it was a great evening all around. Catch them live if you can.

It's actually Jason Scheff... Jerry is his dad (played bass with Elvis and the Doors). That bass is 2 or 3 years old at this point... XS stands for Extended Scale, and it's a 35" 4-string strung BEAD. I believe it was a prototype fro that model, and it also has Bartolini pickups as opposed to the in-house pups too. Hope that helps!

Well, call from the FedEx guy that he could not find my house....we have a new house in an area that GPS doesn't know of..lol. He said I would have to wait till tomorrow to get the new toy since he had other delivereies to make. Come to find out, his next delviery was at my place of employment...so I met him out back, showed some ID, signed for it and now it is in my Jeep!!!! Little freaked out though as I ordered a 3TB 55-02 with rosewood board and the box from Bass Central read LPB DJ5. The truth is I would have been happy either way...lol. I opened a bit of the box to peek inside and it was the proper 55-02 although the other would have been a pleasant surprise as well. So I will leave work here in about 15 minutes and get home and play it a bit and post some pics of the family tonight.
