I like them a good bit better than the Barts - I'm leaving to set up in a bit and will get to see how they fit in the mix this weekend. I'm not sure of who is playing - the musician lineup runs the range of bass, drums and keys to bass, drums, percussionists (2), piano, keyboards, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and up to 45 strings/winds. I guess I'll see what is up when I get there!

Anyway, through my Glock/Tri-115 rig the pickups seem to have a bit more aggessiveness and "up front" tone compared to the Barts. Still on the darker side tone-wise but probably about half-way between the Barts and the Duncans.

glad you liked 'em. Personally, I did. The only thing the LH-3 seems to do less assertively than the Barts for me, is emulation of the sound of a P.

yeah, the barts lay an impression on me of more density and support in the low mids

BTW, seems like my Shoreline 55-94 is sold, payment pending. So at first I was going JO6



(maaaaan, I meant JO5 but this is a cool idea too!!! :cool:),



but then I thought I need a P-bass sound every now and then. So a passive PJ5 would be great too.

I had to make a trip to Indiana today and so I went by Lakland on theway...only had a short time so - did not play much but here is my (short) update:

dropped off the fretless to be coated and Blondie to be looked over....Dan was amazed that the only damage she took was the knocked in button! He had a few meetings so he left soon after I got there...

they still have BG502 there which Leo says Dan may want to keep....BUT: there are 2 US decade 5 bangers up for grabs (1 red and 1 white)....

there is also a 3 tone US DJ which may be up for grabs....

call Leo if you want info on the above....

saw Markus' Silver Surfer fretless....OMG!!!! that is sweet (did not have time to play it - darn!)

there is a REALLY sweet (and VERY early) hand built (by Carl) 4-94 with Barts....and get this - it has a dark wooden stripe down the middle of the neck!!! a collector's item for sure! It MAY end up for sale :ninja: the color is very light -either natural or maybe a very light blonde....if I was primarily a 4 banger guy I would have pursued it further...

saw Jauqo's latest (the brown deluxe with the 3 single coil CHis - MARKUS - PLEASE POST A PIC OR 2!!!).....it was there for a set up.....that is one sweet bass!!!!

saw 4 blue trans quilted bodies getting ready for final assembly - that quilted blue has got to be one of my favorite Lakland colors!!! one even had lipsticks in it!!!!

Leo said to keep an eye open on the LOG site for an updated "belm" report.....they guys spent a full day and went through every Skyline they had and identified the "Blems"...if you want an -02 or a Decade this may be the time to think a about it (I'm just sayin.....)

as I was alomst ready to leave in comes Carl and Bill Dickins.....I said hi to both and shook Mr. Dicken's hand and then they "dissapeared" for some government work (who knows??? NOT ME!!!)

that is about all....now the wait for my "repaired" basses begins!!!!

this was a most impressive trip, and the report is most expressive!
...and informative. Hail to the BG5 =) what's the BG502 though?
