Also i went to see Incubus last night, and they ripped it up.
Ben Kenney had a geat collection of laklands he was playing
teal green metallic JO4 u.s.
lake placid blue 4-94 dual j
candy apple red 4-94 dual j
he played a 55-94 for the dirk lance songs (and he ripped up the slap solo on redefine)
and also pulled out a skyline decade for the encore Punch drunk
his tone was awesome with the flatwound strings, except he had rounds on the 55-94
through the plethora of Mesa gear

Uber hotness.
Man...that's five laklands in one concert. Did he actually use all 5?
Can anyone tell me what year my DJ5 serial # 04094841 was made?
if yours is a skyline, then the first 2 digits stand for the year
I'll join the party. Here are my two Laklands. Both from around 1998-2000 (pre-skyline):

Serial Number 401.
494 Ash (w/flame top), rosewood.
This is the first (and as far as I know only) Lakland with a matching SUNBURST headstock. The maple neck (which you can't see in the pics) and inlays were subtly dyed amber, too, to add to the overall warmth of color on this bass. Notice this is before the output jack got moved to the side and also (right) before a logo was put on the bridge.

Serial Number BH X01 (not a production bass - my initials (BH) + X (prototype) + 01
494(fretless) Alder, ebony w/PUPLEHEART fret markers
This is an odd little beast. The body was made in the transition from the output on the front to the output on the side. It had both holes drilled. To accomodate this, instead of a blend control for the pickups, they each have their own volume. Also the toggle switch for the MM pickup is not the standard wiring (S-H-S). Instead it's S-H(series)-H(parallel), giving you varying degrees of grrrrrowl.
This is by far the thinnest neck on any Lakland I've played (and being the QC guy there for a few years, I've played hundreds) and is an absolute joy to play.
The knobs are in my shop somewhere. Last time I had this bass out, I was fixing a short in the preamp. I must've forgotten to put the knobs back on.

those were the ones that he used, im sure he has many more.
he used the dual j's the most
I think a little black and white w/ shark tooth inlays would look good on that wall Markus. And, I KNOW it would pair well w/ the Ampeg rig.

You SURE do!!!! IT has been way to long!!!! I forgot about it....get those pics up NOW!!!! (Pronto Tonto!!)
The 09 means September.
04= 2004
09= Sept.
Only if it's a Skyline.
