yeah, part my love for the DJ is the bound and blocked neck....YMMV...so what's up with that E-Mac?

Its a fretless no, so the blocks would be like patches of epoxy on the board, changing the tone, causing bussing, maybe....

I assumed it was the blocked one I saw a while back and grabbed a pic of what I thought was a similar bass. No blocks on this baby, but man does it snarl. As a fretless, it would be a perfect complement to my DJ fretless. But, it is not meant to be. Either way, this bass has one of the best pure passive tones I've heard from a fretted J bass. It one-ups Tracy.

No concern. My love for DJs is from the neck profile, body contour and killer passive tone. That's there with or without blocks.

Cool! Never seen a DJ neck like that. I assume this was a custom order and someone cancelled?

I think that means dump the Geddy and get a 55-02 AND a Lakland J

Before I played Laklands, I had a Geddy. I thought it was the pinnacle of passive J-style basses at the time. Then I get a sky JO, my mind being blown I sold the Geddy. Then I got an incredible US JO and sold everything...

All of this time later, I'm rocking two passive US DJs and that's it.

Never 5 strings though? Love the two DJs....nice family.

It still looks great, but it has taken a beating over the past several weeks. That bass is on its way to being "reliced"

Hey lads - answer me this riddle - I've got a Skyline Joe Osborn 5er, which I am led to beleive had Lindy Fralin pickups but now has Lakland brand pickups. How can I tell what mine has? I bought my bass recently "new" from my local distributer as a demo model since they no longer carry Lakland, and I think its sat in a case there unopened for a few years. Serial is 03041602 - what info does that portray?
