I seriously have tried to cut back a bit since I saw the last tally.
Also Doug, I'm taken lol, like many of you older fellows. It must be a bass player thing.

That reminds me. I went out with a couple of girls in San Franciso. It was some kind of a holiday then. Each of them was younger than me (I wonder why we keep on mentioning this in this thread - are we subliming something? I confess I am loosing hair), and I was 24. I mean, I am sure you could tell I was legal to drink. Nevertheless, I left my ID at home (very clever - in a foreign country), - so I couldn't even get into a bar to have high time with them...

I know why. The headstock shape is weak-willed, and the overall design is too afraid to be different. I mean, JO is a JB '62 variant, and we're cool with that, since we've got the -94, the HB, the Decade. Does that make sense?

I'm willing to bet yours is Indo-Plek'ed with the Lakland pups.
Not 100% sure about it being Indo, but I know they switched to Lakland pups way back in 07 or so.

My new 55-02 had a build date of sometime in 08, and had a plek's date of I believe 6/09. I don't know if I still have the tag or not. I would assume yours was plek'd.....and yeah, lakland pups I would assume

Cheers guys.
As far as the pleking im very pleased with the neck, plek'ed or not.
PUP wise im not too sure i like them but im going to change the strings and hope for the best before i do anyithng drastic.
Its such a wonderful bass, feel and play wise that if i dont get on with the tone ill just put a P pup in as i really want to keep with the Lakland necks.
