Well I picked Midas up today.
I was'nt expecting it to be so light. 8.2 lbs on my digital bathroom scale.
Funny thing is I sold my amp to get a new one, then that day Midas came up and my amp money went there instead.
So I actually don't have an amp to play it through.
Small price to pay for an awesome bass.
Anyway....Plays like a dream. Great action.
I've had two DJs and a Duck Dunn. The blocks and binding do not compare.

Unfortunately, I took my camera to the shop and snapped a few pictures but my battery was dying/died. I may have lost a few.
Here are a couple I was able to salvage.

that's a giant step to absolute happiness :)
Of all, I find blocks and binding to be the most stunning.
Are you going to put on a pickguard? You would have to order something absolutely special, like a pearl one, in the shape of a spiral seashell...

Here's my new toy... I got her with the intention of selling cause I could use some cash but after only a couple days she's already screaming, "I'm here to stay!"

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. 55-94 Classic (?) - Ash body in Pearl White, Tort p/g, Maple neck and BEM board, Barts... I was told she is a '97 and used to belong to the bass player from Heroshima (I don't know their name though), that said it's obvious she's done her time on the road and it shows - I love it!

that's a nice one!
ash body without maple cap makes it Standard

But, have you compared it to a 55-02? That's what I own, thus my curiosity; plus, my 55-02 sounds different than my jazz-styled bass.

lindseyp:

I am "hoping" to get some "live" clips of my JO5CS up soon....just played it at church today and we did a couple of songs which (I believe) turned out well and where the JOCS should be heard well....

just need to figure out how to post sound clips.....

I think the CSs have a more punchy and wider range than your typical J pickups....the 55-02 does a pretty good job of a "modern J" (and a whole lot more!!!)

I'm not a huge fan of gold basses, but that is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
