No more progress no that one . I looked . That bass actually belongs to, and is being built by Shop Supervisor Kevin (don't know his last name).

Well I picked Midas up today.
I was'nt expecting it to be so light. 8.2 lbs on my digital bathroom scale.
Funny thing is I sold my amp to get a new one, then that day Midas came up and my amp money went there instead.
So I actually don't have an amp to play it through.
Small price to pay for an awesome bass.
Anyway....Plays like a dream. Great action.
I've had two DJs and a Duck Dunn. The blocks and binding do not compare.

Unfortunately, I took my camera to the shop and snapped a few pictures but my battery was dying/died. I may have lost a few.
Here are a couple I was able to salvage.

If you look on GCs website, search under used gear, search for Laklands. This bass is "Reduced" to $449.99.
I remember someone saying it was a 55-01 with the pickup cavities re-routed.

That bass was in the Wichita GC. It may still be there, but I haven't been there in a month or two. When it first came in, I played it a bit. It sounded pretty good, but it had a lousy setup -- reverse bend in the neck. I don't know if they've ever fixed it.

What's this about a Lakland '51 P???

"custom made" by/for the shop supv (Kevin).....that is all there is to it at this point.....

I saw Leo today (at a guitar show) and told him that he should "push" Dan to see if they could make them in US models (at least)...I think there would be enough interest...of course I said that about the BG5 as well!

speaking of the BG5's....we were trying to figure out how many there are....

I believe (can someone confirm) that the first actual production model (#02) is in Germany - believe it was Red (or an I mistaken)?

#03 belongs to Bass Central

Mine is #04

I believe there may be 2-3 more ordered since I saw a BG#06 neck at the factory on Saturday....

saw Leo at a guitar show today....he had several Lakies including:

A nice LPB US BG with RW neck

A great inca silver JS (Scheff) with RW neck....played it - wow! those lipsticks are much deeper than I expected!

A nice burst US JO

A 55-02 in bust

A (?????) loaded 44-02 forget - John - what were the pickups?

A shoreline gold Decade with a single humbucking CHI in the FAR bridge position.....this one had seen some better days but sounded GREAT! (it was the one sent back when the person tried to do a DS conversion themselves)....

a few others....

he also had a nice selction of "other" basses - including (MARKUS????) a brown Fender J bass.....not all THAT bad looking!!!
