LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #26

LOL! I say that about 4 strings. I guess because I play 99% in church / worship music gigs, a 5'er is indispensible for on the fly transposing and key changes. Nothing beats the low B on my Dingwall (oops did I just say that in a Lakland thread!!) ;)

I'll say this, my first Lakland was a 55-02 and the 35" low B is what attracted me to Lakland. I was subbing at a church once that had subs under the stage. There was a song that had a break in the middle where the bass lands on a low C and holds it for a full measure. Half the singers turned around and stared in bewilderment at me. I pointed to the keys player! :hiding:

cool!

Hi Everybody! /drnick

so now i'm lookin for a 5 string jazz and i've finally made the decision to buy my way back into the Lakland family. :hiding:

i was going to make a different purchase, but i've found that i have to stick with things i've tried or i'll just keep going on the buying/selling frenzy.

in other news (since i haven't posted extensively for a while), i now have a ShuttleMax 12.0 and 2 GenzBenz neo 212 cabs. I absolutely love this rig. it's so killer, lol...hard to describe. no pics of it together since one of the cabs is at the guitar players house for practices, etc.

still rocking the stingray, but i have an empty USA Lakland case sitting in the corner waiting for a black DJ or JO 5 string. :ninja:

So there's a post with a great pic of a BG5. Several people were hoping this bass becomes available as a Skyline. Where were all these people when trying to get the LOG bass going????:crying:

I dunno. With the DJ going away, maybe it's a great time for Lakland to offer only 1 Skyline 5 string 'Jazz' model and add a 'P5' model to round out the offerings?

terry just had one not to long ago, ive heard they are more agressive than the barts or LH3. i have heard good things.

Tex ( Terry's old bass ) is now mine. I personally haven't found the neck PU to be a very good match. It does do a decent MM tone when you solo the bridge but overall I'm not a huge fan.

I have the LH3 pickups coming this week to swap them out. Most of the Lakland users either have the Barts or the LH3.

I DID play it more towards the bridge pick up... never really noticed the balance issue, interesting....
