AHHH DUDE!!! ****gagging here****
Did you really just post that pic in our hallowed LOG thread??
I don't know what to think of you anymore! Why.... maybe I don't know who you are anymore!!!
Oh, so that's YOU in the pic aye? And don't flatter yourself! Doude my sneak a peak, but not me bucko!
JK Doug(hit him when he's not around--my method hehehe)
Good morning guys.... Seems like I missed an interesting night last night, lol. Anyway, might be laying down some bass parts today (definitely by the weekend) on some new songs for our album. Fun stuff!
I think the preamp might be part of the problem-the fact that there is one, I mean. I've always seemed to get better results with passive basses. I'm a little OCD, so I prefer a "set and forget" approach. I like to run the preamp flat for the most part, but I find that my bass is too dark sounding that way. With the treble control dimed there's too much and any other setting seems like not quite enough. I love the look and playability (neck) of this bass but the sound isn't quite doing it for me.![]()
Yeah, I know. Usually, I only write decent stuff when I'm an emotional hurricane, and (un)fortunately, I have been very inspired lately, lol. Hopefully something cool comes out of it!
Yeah! I submitted a track for the LOG CD, but I'm hoping this other one gets finished in time to replace it. MUCH groovier bassline, plus it will be a representation of the BG5 on the recording![]()
I was a little (OK - very) shocked as well....
the next one up is Markus Paisley Pink
Someone better tell Pier 1 Imports!

Um...you're wrong on that one. You guys might see it in a few years when it gets to you.

Those are right up my alley. They are sexy as hell.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Lakland has the best Customer Service ever!
sorry for the roller coaster my friend....thoughts and prayers going your way....
NOW WAIT A BLINKING MINUTE!!!! How did I get drawn into this?????
JJ- you and I are fellow Booty fans.......now you're throwing me under the bus?????
Sorry bro, I was tired and trying to redirect the attack LOL.
I'm ashamed of myself!

Lakland rocks!!! that story isn't suprising to me one bit. lakland stands behind their product like no other company.well looks like things are getting squared away with my new Lakie....just received my JO5 and (due to a manufacturing defect apparently) the truss rod was begun to creep out of the back of neck (breaking through the neck) at the headstock. It's due to oversanding at the factory. Got in contact with Kirk and they are standing behind their product and replacing the neck! The bass is '02, I'm the third owner, and they're still going to help me out! I couldn't believe it. I got to say, this kind of CS just doesn't happen anymore. I was actually expecting, and would have totally accepted, for them to say ",we'll sell you a new neck at a discounted price." I have had a very similar experience with another major bass manufacturer (who shall remain nameless, but the letters of the company might have a G and an L in it) a few years back regarding a wanky neck that was poorly manufactured. Their response was we'll "sell" you a new neck. Totally acceptable cause I bought it used and the warranty didn't transfer. No big. But Lakland definitely goes above and beyond with their product.
