Question: should I give the Dunn w/ it's Fralin pup a thorough try (for me that's a few months at least) or just go ahead and get on the waiting list for a new Darkstar pup and black Jeannies pickguard?? Maybe pearl to match the blocks, hmm....
Tough choice. I really like both a lot (though I favor the DS)--give the Fralin a fair shot before buying the DS, which is of course going to require cutting into the bass. Just my two cents.

Yeah! I submitted a track for the LOG CD, but I'm hoping this other one gets finished in time to replace it. MUCH groovier bassline, plus it will be a representation of the BG5 on the recording :)
Sounds very cool, Randy--looking forward to hearing it!

I'm also glad!!! Hoping to git 'er sooner! But with my best guess, she would make an awesome xmas present for me

NOT that you would trade for one like mine?! :eyebrow:
NOT that I would trade it ...:):smug:

are you suggesting my 55-94 fretless for your CHI-fretless?

if you are...stop the shipment and let me play it before it gets out of the country to see....ONE potential shipping bill not 2!

major LOL!
You need to post 'em tho

How 'bout this one (sorry, don't have an action shot at hand):

That's the whole crew ( I think) of a death metal band I was playing in circa 1995, including a female flute player, two vocalists, a road technician (yes we had one!) and on and on...

FLUTE in a death metal band???? nice (literal) AXE you have there...personally, I like the more modern pic of you and your 55-94 better.....

OK - the circa 1995 picture is "nice and classic" but the 55-94 is more to my liking in bass styles....

Thanks for sharing all of the pictures!!!

keep the fralin in for a while and get the pearl guard....you can always re-route the guard latetr for the DS (I believe) IF you go that way.....

I dunno....I really like the fralin sound....

Yeah, I'm still kicking my @55 for not snagging Markus' DPLEII a few months back, he's kicking his own @55 for selling it too :D.

Yeah, as I said in an earlier post... I loved the Fralin jazz pups in my JO5 (now gone), but those are J pups. I also love my 4-76 w/ a single DS in the MM position.

So...... any more opinions/input?? Patience is obviously NOT a strength of mine :D.

you ALREADY have a DS bass......stay with the fralins...

I wouldn't do it unless you are absolutely unhappy with the Fralin. IMHO, a P bass doesn't look quite right with anything other than a spit coil, and there's gobs of recorded proof that they sound fantastic.

Yeah, gotta hit the hay in a min. Let's not do the Walton's thing... "goodnight Markus, goodnight Doug...." PLEASE!

good night JJ!
