LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #30

Wow! Those guys are something else! That's awesome!

well looks like things are getting squared away with my new Lakie....just received my JO5 and (due to a manufacturing defect apparently) the truss rod was begun to creep out of the back of neck (breaking through the neck) at the headstock. It's due to oversanding at the factory. Got in contact with Kirk and they are standing behind their product and replacing the neck! The bass is '02, I'm the third owner, and they're still going to help me out! I couldn't believe it. I got to say, this kind of CS just doesn't happen anymore. I was actually expecting, and would have totally accepted, for them to say ",we'll sell you a new neck at a discounted price." I have had a very similar experience with another major bass manufacturer (who shall remain nameless, but the letters of the company might have a G and an L in it) a few years back regarding a wanky neck that was poorly manufactured. Their response was we'll "sell" you a new neck. Totally acceptable cause I bought it used and the warranty didn't transfer. No big. But Lakland definitely goes above and beyond with their product.

Question: should I give the Dunn w/ it's Fralin pup a thorough try (for me that's a few months at least) or just go ahead and get on the waiting list for a new Darkstar pup and black Jeannies pickguard?? Maybe pearl to match the blocks, hmm....

I had an original Duck Dunn with Fralins and would never slag the Fralins - great P Pickups!

The Darkstars are a whole other game.

If you already have a Darkstarred bass I'd leave the DD as is - I would do a White Pearl PG. No to the cowcatcher IMHO! Lol!

Those DPLEII's are sumpin - so nice I bought it twice!

Fantastic. This is what they do.:)

Yeah, they've offered to fix any/all my used basses for free.... not that I've had any real problems. But, when I've called w/ questions, they've made it clear that if I'll ship it, they'll fix it. Unbelievable CS always!! Love 'em!!

Yeah the Inca is beautiful!! You have to see it in person to appreciate it. I can't help imagining how sexy my Dunn would be refin'ed in Inca, matching headstock, w/ a black PG and DS pup .... "Pure sex right thar, I don't ker who y'ar"

Love both pics. 2 kinds of HOT right there!!

There doesnt appear to be a set of long D'Addario Chrome 5's in all of Dallas... so I put the spare set of DR Black Beauties on it.
That just isnt doing it for me, but will have to last til I can get a set of flats.....
