Color is UNREAL in person!!! Like a bunch or sparkling garnets! I can't capture it w/ my meager skills.
Agree. In all the pictures I saw, even the good ones, it just looked more "red" than anything else. In person, it has a depth and a sparkly sheen, like they ground up a bunch of diamonds to go into the finish. It's not in your face from a distance like a flake finish is. But when you get close it looks wonderful.

The Inca and LPB (I assume) have that crushed diamond appearance in the paint too. As does the DJ pearl and black finishes, not as noticable in the pearl IME.

Man! A CAR DJ5 w/ Chis ("would you like Chis with that?" "Yes please.") would be smoking hot! Yum yum

Look what I got yesterday. If i had to sum it up in one word it would be massive. It's huge, heavy and big and ballsy. Very bass present but not overly so or muddy in any way. Tons of punch but with a leaning to the bass side of the spectrum. I'm sure the mahogany has something to do with that. It's a rock & roll monster. And the short scale neck is just perfect. It's so much fun to play. Racy and effortless. It's all right there, no big stretches. I'm really glad I went with the short scale neck. I love my JO but it's going to get a little case time.

Can anyone comment on the DJ5 weight? I dont know if 10lbs is too heavy!

There really isn't much we can say....10lbs for me isn't too heavy. It all depends on you...your build, your strength, stamina, what kind of strap you use. Weight is never an issue for me...any bass I have problems with is about balance, not weight. My DJ4 balances perfectly...and in a few hours, I will know about my DJ5
