LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #30

I am eyeing up some Laklands......and they are shop floor ones that are 'new' but have been in the shops for a while.

DJ5 in LPB w/maple and DJ5 Black w/maple

One is 10lbs, the other 10 lbs 3/4 which seems a little heavy.

They are cheaper than normal...im not sure what to do....I dont want a 'duff' one.

Whats a Skyline 5 average weight?

My DJ5 was right around 10 lbs.....they do vary and 10 lbs is pretty much avg...I agree with JJ (Jedi)...unless you have a back problem, go for it!

cheaper than normal huh? the DEFINITELY DO IT!

both colors are sweet.....I think LPB looks better with RW boards (IMHO).....so I would go for the black in this case...

The Inca and LPB (I assume) have that crushed diamond appearance in the paint too. As does the DJ pearl and black finishes, not as noticable in the pearl IME.

Man! A CAR DJ5 w/ Chis ("would you like Chis with that?" "Yes please.") would be smoking hot! Yum Yum

I should get home to see my new baby tonight......DJ5.....I have never seen the lakland LPB in person. If it is anything like JJ's pic of the CAR (regarding the sparkle) I will kick myself for not grabbing Terry two other LPB's.

There really isn't much we can say....10lbs for me isn't too heavy. It all depends on you...your build, your strength, stamina, what kind of strap you use. Weight is never an issue for me...any bass I have problems with is about balance, not weight. My DJ4 balances perfectly...and in a few hours, I will know about my DJ5

Also depends on some recent and not so recent injuries.

Can anyone comment on the DJ5 weight? I dont know if 10lbs is too heavy!

I've had 3 DJ's... all three were between upper-9 to near 11 pounds. Get a nice wide strap... problem solved.

We have our self recorded EP that will probably be of acceptable quality, if not my feelings wouldn't be hurt. I recorded all tracks w/ Traci and her "horrible " Barts. You want 'em emailed to ya?
