I think about how I used to gig out with no backup of any kind...not a bass, not strings, or 9V (active basses back then)! Young and dumb....never had any issues though, thank God!

Stew at Nordstrand has been great at answering my ridiculous questions, so I'll stick with them. Plus, if I decide to go P/J with it at some point in the future, I know they can wind a big split to match.

I originally was wanting some Bill Lawrence pickups, but have not been successful getting through to their business. I know he has been ill and in the hospital. I'd still like to talk to them regarding some pickups for another 'project' I'm working on. :ninja:

Have you ever noticed how you never seem to meet anyone who lives in the "early" section of a FedEx/UPS route? Seems like absolutely everyone is destined to live in areas where they don't deliver until the evening. Maybe they make all their business/commercial deliveries in the AM and residential in the PM.

Thats true. Many people aren't home during the day, so they go to businesses during that time. I guess most non-Lakland fans don't call in sick to wait for a package.

That is one of the reasons I've started having important items shipped to a nearby UPS store. No hassles.

Not a bad idea... Is it usually the same shipping cost or is it a discount to have it shipped there?

Well just as I posted above the doorbell rang and it's here. It's a beautiful instrument and my first impressions are very positive, I'll know more tonight at rehearsal but I think I've made a great choice.

Props to Brim for selling me a fantastic bass. Here's a pic he took:

Fedex delivers to my house between 10am and noon, don't know about UPS yet. Although UPS was always between 4:30 and 6pm at my apartment, while Fedex was still noonish.
