yeah, I wouldn't say they were hit with the ugly stick...but it looked like someone built a house with nothing but ugly sticks...and they went in the house, and the whole house fell on them

JENGA!!

It had a pickguard at one point, the holes are there. I don't know if I'm every going to add one since I like the thumb rest so much... maybe I will down the line.

DOUG, I did not get an acrylic. I just got another oil coat or whatever it is on it. The flats are there to stay, so there should be no reason for acrylic. I'd prefer not to, but we'll see how the board holds up to my beast of a left hand.

oh...then I misunderstood Carl...I thought we BOTH had acrylic applied...I would consider it.....it does not change the feel of the board or the sound (really).....I heard that some treatments may make the board feel thicker....not how they do it...

not fair! I was out for a few days! ;-)

meanwhile, Nessie has arrived to the guy who will get her over the pond. His description was, "I have no words, it's a killer!"

Denis....glad to see you back buddy!!! where were you??? I guess a trial of Nessie is out of the question then....oh well, was gonna send the 55-94 your way...too late.....:D:ninja:

An overly simplified and likely butchered translation:

It's a 4 string passive bass with the new Chee Sonic pickups. Humbucker with a Single Coil sound. / it's a bass that looks alot like a Gibson Thunderbird, but there are some differences. / The bass comes in this red color, and I put the white pickguard on to make it look more interesting. / Not available in Sparkling Turd. / The controls are like a Jazz bass, but with different sounds. / This is Markus' hat. He doesn't know I have it. / The neck pickup has a very full sound. / With both pickups it has an interesting sound. / It's a bass best designed to play rock, among other things. And blues. / I'm using some of the bridge pickup but this is mostly from the neck pickup. / It's a Lakland Deecade and is available everywhere. / I wish they made a 5 string Skyline P-Bass.

I think I got most of it, but some of it doesn't seem right. :p

LOL!!! LOVE the subliminal messaging in there!!!!

Had a great time last night. Had calzones and stouts w/ Aaron and his coworker who's also a musician (poor guy barely got a word in).

Got to see his basses, LPB definitely IS more striking in person! And, that non-ACDJ is super cool- light, small and sexy. And the Glaub neck felt great, unlike all the Fen**r P necks that have always seemed to feel too big.

We had no time for strippers and spooning though, I had to work. My dachshund was SO disappointed.

Aaron brought his basses with him???? man- he travels right for business!!!!

Calzones and Stout? sounds WAY to heavy for me.....love them both but NOT together.....

BTW - if you are ever in Waukesha Wisconsin, see if a place called Jimmy's Grotto is still there...they had KILLER Calzones 20 years ago....nice and (urp!) greazzy (these were deep fried, not baked)!

BTW - Aaron called me today about something and he said he was dissapointed he did not get to spoon your dachshund (somehow, as I type this, I find something SERIOUSLY wrong with those words - not sure why.....)
