I'm from the UK; a far distant land land where a Skyline costs the same as a US Fender and many folk from Bassville view these Lakland things as exotic "over priced Fender copies".

HA! too true!

I had to haggle so hard to get my LPB DJ Skyline to under £1000!

But...

I have it now...

It's the first rung of Lakland ownership, but one helluva upgrade from a Peavey Fury, I tell thee...
Plugs straight into the church PA, it's that good.
Run it through a little baby Eden Nemesis EN8jr at home, good fat tone.

Jus' gotta get me a Jerry Scheff in Inca Silver someday. And yes, I know they don't make them anymore, but I hear that if you ask nicely they'll make one for you.

I'm from Northern Ireland, btw. Am I alone in the universe? C'mon Norn Iron, let's hear ya!

It's making me give some SERIOUS thought about one for my 55-94 fretless...JJ - which color is that? (So I get it perfect like yours).....may get another for.....dunno...."another" bass as well....

They DO sound GREAT direct.....I had a DJ4 and a DJ5 and they sounded so sweet through the Church system it almost made me wet my pants the first time I plugged it in there....

as for a Scheff....I'm with ya!!! there is a SWEET LPB one available - ALMOST as nice as an inca silver and ALL of the tone!!!
