Welp, I signed a lease on an apartment in Knoxville!! Moving in May 31st and starting work June 1st.

Definitely seems like a nice place, we are super pumped about moving in up there.

I think I will wait until I move in before I update my address. I would hate to have a "nonbeliever" receive any of my Lakland stuff.

Anyways, we still have to sell our house here and move into an apartment here so my wife can finish her experiments by December. So lots of moving but I will let you know when the addresses actually change.

Just bought a Skyline DJ yesterday. :bassist: apologies for the low res pic. Who do I talk to about getting a number??

Very nice! I love those DJs.

Send a PM to "basspraiser" (Doug, also known as Doude) for a number. And please check out Link Removed for more Lakland info and discussion!

Spent my afternoon at the tattoo shop getting my "Inkage".
Complete with a Lakland.
A little too gross to post full size pics right now.
Refer to the new avatar.

Its hard to see, but its James Jamerson playing a Glaub.
Sorry if it offends anyone. I like it.

Aww man, I could've sent a pic of Sexual Chocolate to you! Can't you see Jamerson playing her...... maybe not :hmm:.

;)

Haha, Roger won't make a custom guard without a template. Carl and I are trying to get one cut for my 4-76 that I've named Kobol. There's less than ten 4-76's out there, so Roger doesn't see a big market for 'em, so it's up to me to get a template cut. :hmm:

Wow! Is that on your calf or upper arm? And I know I've seen a mockup or something like that before on TB, Jamerson playing a non-Fender, but I can't remember where exactly...

Guys I'm coming to NY in September And I'd like to complement that with a skyline Lakie! I've Tried a JO at the Bass gallery in London and really liked what I had in my hands! So It'll be probably a close race between a JO and a HB (as I tried this one in Montreal and really digged the sound too!) and maybe a DJ but I'm not sold on what I tried (I really think the JO didn't have the classic J sound that I usually don't like whilst the DJ had it but YMMV)

So aside from some advice, Do you know a place in NYC where I could be able to try at least a JO and a HB? at a good price? I'd love to find one used too so If you plan to get rid of any skyline JO4 or HB and are ok to wait until september then count on me!

Cheers

6 months ago I played a used lakland hollowbody at a shop in Minneapolis, and I've been waiting (and gas-ing) ever since to get one!

Thanks to basmansam, I've got my FIRST LAKLAND! (GOLD HB DS on the right)

Could be here Thursday or Friday. I'll get some new pics up when it arrives.

Thanks again basmansam! Once it arrives, I'll apply for a number!

HBs can be pretty hard to find at Lakland dealers; JOs are much more common. 48th Street in midtown Manhattan is a music-store mecca of sorts: There's Rudy's Music (which carries Laklands) and Sam Ash (also a Lakland dealer) right next door. While I have only been to each store once, the chances of finding a JO in one or the other are pretty good, IMO. Check Lakland's dealer listings for other possible stops.

Congrats on a very cool bass! I just got a DS'd HB in CAR a few months ago and I love the tone. When you get a chance, check out Link Removed for more Lakland stuff.
