LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #41

I prefer DR stainless and MTD stainless myself. And have never liked GHS strings.

And, if you're a member of the Lakland Owner's Group, you get a discount on DRs (IIRC) and pickguards (10% off) from Jeannie Pickguards. I've bought so many sets of MTDs in bulk last year, that I've not needed to check about the DR discount. That's why I'm not sure ;).

not really...the body contour is WAY different....shape similar...contour different...

Lakland is laying low on new models untl the economy improves but Dan tells me (no details (darn it!!!)) that he has a few GREAT ideas when he can implement them...

I am surprised it would cost anything retooling wise. Wouldn't the body be the same as the Glaub just routed for a single coil P pickup? That and a new pickguard seems to be the only thing you would need.

HIDE THE KIDS!!!! naked Lakie content!!!

Yes, but who wants a stinkin' 55 ??? :D

The control plate and pickguard shape wouldn't work.

EDIT: I meant if someone wanted to convert a Glaub or Dunn to a Tele style bass... sorry :-)

you know....20 or so years ago I swore of GHS for good....did not like them.....got my first few Lakies and then found out that GHS made their strings and was floored! these are not "standard" however, they are specific Lakland designs.

DR is a GREAT string as well and happen to be a great sponsor of the LOG site....

Every month we give away a set of Lakie strings and a set of DR strings to lucky supporting members (as a matter of fact we just got a new set of strings from Dan on Saturday - we were ALL out of 5ers...seems like alot of LOG members (or at least those who win the random drawings) play 5 bangers)!!!

I've had some issues with GHS before. Anyone had experience with the lakie strings?

any good?

I use DRs should I make the switch?

You are 100% correct!!!

part of the benefits.....there are also other discounts....
