Audere JZ-3 + Nordstrand == MONSTER.
One of the DJ5's I had for a bit had NJ5s's with a JZ-3. The tones that thing could achieve were insane. Killer slap tones, though I'm not much into that style these days... it was still fun

Now if I could get a maple/maple neck blocked and bound in white that would complete the look...
Pretty big show last night. Decided to play the Magnum (my 44-02... 44 Magnum, get it?) the entire night. As much as I love the big warm fullness of the hollowbody, it's nice to get the definition and bite from the more modern sounding 44 every once in a while.
Plus the neck is a lot slimmer so I feel like I can move around a lot easier.

Sigh... Its been about a year & a half, since I sold my 55-01... I gotta admit, I do miss its playability. I do much prefer the electronics in my SR5, over whats in a 55-01. Maybe I need to dabble w/ a 55-02.
Go for it. But realize that the 55-02 may get somewhat close to the tone of an Ray, but not exactly. Much more versatile in tone though, imo.

Well, if I close my eyes, I go for the Glaub every time, but the ladies (and the cameras) want Radioactive Oatmeal.... I'll either have 3 BG5's or 2BG5's and a 55-02 or Decade....
+1! Not to prevent the lack of a J bass, but because yours is pimped out so nicely. It would be a shame to get rid of it!
