The string I'm trying to figure out, the one in the foreground, no silks, is 99.9% definite not part of the same set as the others. Where as the others all change over to blue silks at the same point (+/- 0.25 inch) the mystery 'E' string carries on, unsilked to the end, for another 3 inches. The mystery 'E' string is also pretty much the same gauge as the 'A' string it sits next to.deep talkin' flats, yes im positive. i have a pair. the silk windings are different lenths so it could be possible that the person had to cut it off to wind the sting. at least the one next to it IS a labella.the one in the forefront could be something else i guess??
The mystery 'E' also has a totally different sound (a definite twang acoustically, a growl when amplified) and a different feel, though that is probably attributable to it being a detuned 'A' string.
