Speaking of shorty Decade love.

Great picture!

The "newer" Barts seem darker somehow.....I find the earlier ones to be brighter....not sure if this is REALLY teh case, but they sound that way to me...

Speaking of your pickups, I saw in a few posts where you say how good the old Bart's sound that used to come in Lakies. My -02 is Bart loaded, but it's an 08 so they we're replaced at some point in time before it came here. Just wondering if you knew how the sound of the old Bart's differs from potential newer ones.

congrats and welcome!

the SKB harshells that are shaped like this:

works perfectly.....had my BG4 in there before I sold it....nice and snug

New Skyline Duck Dunn owner here.

What aftermarket hard case will fit this like a glove? I'll take it to my local Guitar Center and Sam Ash to physically test whatever they have. But thought I'd ask here as someone's likely done all of the work for me already or has an online alternative to something better and less expensive than a local buy from those big boys.

I have heard that Roger (from Jeannie's pick guards) was having a few issues getting his guards to fit the indonesian basses due to the holoes being in a different spot....

as for the shipping costs, that seems a bit extreme to me....:eyebrow:

Anyone have some PICKGUARD suggestions for me? I'm having a hard time sourcing a replacement black/white/black guard for my Indonesian Skyline Duck Dunn manufactured in 12/2009.

I actually bought some used guards off an older Skyline Duck Dunn with Lindys. They don't match my instrument. If I force the guard around the neck pocket and pickups, none of the screw holes line up.

Here's what Lakland said to me:

I contacted them about the fact their site only lists Duck Dunn / Glaub guards from 2004-2007 and here's their reply:

John:

It's your decision.....I KNOW this had to be a hard one....sorry. :(

I also know you love your kids more than anything...I hope they appreciate it.

Its not that easy.
Periodic weeks off work are catching up.
Two sons graduating in a month.
I don't know.....Listen, I know US Laklands are the s**t.
I worry too much about scratching, or dinging it.
I could use the dough to buy my kids graduation gifts(I never got anything when I graduated).
Some decisions are hard, this one was easy. I'm perfectly fine with it.
Plus I'm getting two Skylines with some funds left over.
I've wanted a Glaub for way too long. Can't pass up the deal I found.

Wait for Doug though

Dude.. That thing is HOT!

I think the Refinish on mine may be silver!

Yea... I had her posted for a while for sale, but I couldn't bear to sell it now. Plus it's an 02, and I think that's the first year they did that model....

I am selling this one....

it's a lot more punchy and mid-present with some amazing tone and good looks... plus it's LIGHT at around 8.75 lbs.

SWEET JJ!!!!

good things come to those who wait......:D

there is ALWAYS a plan..sometimes it just does not "seem" like there is one...

Hey guys :hyper: my boredom may be cured soon!!

I think I've mentioned that our singer quit recently after taking over a month off. The rest of us kept working on new songs, thinking everything would be cool again someday :scowl:. I've also NOT been doing anything with the fusion trio.

Well, my fiance's friend is a singer/guitarist/songwriter that's been working the local scene for years. I've been itching to work w/ him for quite a while. He contacted us last night saying his latest band's bassist may not make their debut gig, and that he's been looking for an oppurtunity to work w/ me :bassist:.

So, I've got a long list of covers and some originals to learn in the next 2 weeks :bassist:. I love a challenge!!

Here's the irony: his band plays a lot of the covers that I practically begged my band to do, with no luck :(, and he's the first singer that came to mind when I knew we would be needing one....

hmmm, maybe a merger will happen? Either way, I'm going to use the oppurtunity to knock the dust off my Laklands. Maybe I'll even get to gig my Tele!!!
