Even though you're not really asking me, my advise would be to get a second 210, and keep speaker size the same.

Unless you are going to bi-amp and split the signal somewhere along the line, the idea of a bigger cone is all marketing magic, and mixing speaker sizes is generally more trouble than it's worth.

Even if you were to bi-amp, you should remember that most bass cabinets are designed to handle the full range of frequencies that you instrument will throw at it.

IMO etc :p

I've been a Lakland Owner longer then any other bass.... Here are my two girls....

The Inca Silver is from 2002....Barts/Rosewood

...and this one from 2006, I'm regretfully selling now... LH-3/Maple



They're both killer players and lookers... I have done many sessions and tours with them both. Love 'em!

Here's what I did to my 55-01. I actually bought it for the sole purpose of doing these mods, and never even played it as an -01. All electronics were removed and sold in the classifieds here, then a matched Nordstrand NP5 was routed in the front and a BigSplit dropped right in the back. Stacked knobs for total control over each pickup, and both are dead quiet when soloed. This mod was far less than $500, and I can't say enough good things about how it sounds!

I' m not usually a fan of pickguards on the 55-xx body shape, but I think that works for me ... any other pics ?

Thanks! I'm not really a fan either for PG's on 55's, but since this one had to get routed, it had to have one to cover that and the extra holes that don't have pots in them since the bass went from a 5 pot active bass to a 2 pot passive. I may still do something different with the guard. Here are a couple more pics, including one taken before adding the BigSplit in the back when it was a straight P (which explains why tohe guard had to be so huge...) :

I personally haven't, but I was considering it for a while and talked to someone that had. The Nordy pickups are going to have the most Fender/EB sound out of most combo's you can try. Not HiFi like the LH3/Bart's and not super aggressive like the Duncans.

I'm sorta leaning towards getting another 210, and your argument is helping put the 115 even further into second place. I have no plans to bi-amp. Hell, I don't play anywhere big enough to even *need* another 210, but I think it'll help the sound a bit.

Went to jam w/ the band that "may" need a sub bassist for a gig in 2 weeks...

drummer and rhythm guitarist didn't show, call, text... singer said "hey Jody, you're band need a singer and guitarist?".

Well.... :D

I had some Gino's East pizza tonight with Evan and his girlfriend. He's headed to Lakland tomorrow morning to see Carl for the killer fretless setup on his DJ. Let's see if he walks out of there with a second bass.:D

Good eats and good people... I'm going in, in about an hour. Checking my bank account. Yep. Hopefully, there are no US DJs there.. an Ash/Rosewood US DJ would do me in.

That picture brings a tear to my good eye... I miss the Uber 212, but not nearly as much as that Glaub!!!
