yeh - sorry about tha "fake out"...all Dan had were JO flat 4's and "unmarked" B strings......so - walla! set of 5 banger flats...glad you like them....

be patient for the LOG bass....

That's the first time I rolled the M1 avatar.

I spent years of days and nights riding around in those.

Don't worry it'll be back...

I still love tanks, tho I fear their days might be numbered...

I once saw a NATO report that put the life expectancy of a tank on a 'current' battlefield (for when the report was issued. I was in the air cadets at the time, so I was likely about 18. A few years ago now) at about 22 minutes, due to the whole swack of anti-tank toys being fielded by standing armies at the time.

That report was tabled at a time when everyone thought that any conventional fighting would be done against guys like East Germany and the Soviet Union, though. I'm thinking that the reality of post Cold-War combat's likely saved the tank for a few more years, but I agree that it's likely on the way out. The Tigers that we use seem to be too big for tight Afghan streets, so they're not even being deployed (IIRC).

The main purpose for tanks is to fight other tanks, take and hold ground.

Our war strategy was designed around WWII type battles,
large standing armies going toe to toe in huge open battle fields or deserts.

Tanks by and large are only effective in that scenario, which we'll probably never see again.
And if we do, we'll send in A10's and Apaches and it will be a turkey shoot.

In my opinion the last and greatest tank battle has already been fought,
The Battle of Medina Ridge in Iraq.
I would have loved to have been there...

Now back to your regular programming...

howdy guys

just popped in to say I'm life, limb and Lakland

have tons of stuff to do so can't print much now but-
still go to rehearsals every now and then. Just played one a few hours ago and took both basses with me. Man, the passive bite of the 55-94 on Nnenna Freelon's variant of Until You Come Back to Me rocks! Love it. And an accidental pushing down the volume pot during the solo just rocked the neighborhood XD
Compared, the 55 Dual Chi fretless pumps a lot more energy than the 55-94 (so when I took the lettar again later I had to add some volume on the amp). I find that I like it a much better in the mix than when at home. BTW, I had tried fiddling with the capacitor to get more high end but ended with the one it initially had. Still thinking if I should get a LH-3 stompbox from Carl

Also, is anyone here going to be in Austria, Germany or close in May 11-24? We're going to visit
