Yeah, slab body.
Kevin, the new shop manager since Carl "sorta" retired, built it for himself from scratch so to speak: cut/shaped the body and guard himself, built the pup, and painted the body too. For some reason, he didn't bond w/ it and it never left the shop and didn't get played
. I got lucky and snagged it, replaced the pup w/ a Fralin split Tele and the bass woke up and is easily the best sounding P bass I've ever heard.

Whoops...yes. Originally it was a hand wound single coil, but now it has a split coil Fralin from what I remember.

love that bass! You do need to try that Lakland pickup in the red bass, and let me know if it is still the best sounding P bass you've heard.
