LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #46

Not open for further replies.
I was asked to write an article on history of Lakland for a russian web community.
Well I just did. Wrote over 4 pages in one go.
Doude once said I was a Lakland geek.
Strange to hear from HIM but... I guess he's right :rollno:

YOU ARE!!! but we BOTH can be Lakland geeks!!!!

Let's see it, Denis!

YES!!! Post it (on the LOG......we will open a thread JUST for you!)

I was going to ask, but I figure it's in Russian.

He can re-write it (in his spare time!)

He's still working on English.:D

so is I....

Man, why'd it get so quiet in here? :)

Finally coming off my my hiatus after what seems like ages (2-3 months in actuality). Meeting up with an old friend/collaborator/bandmate tonight to start work on a new project. CAN'T WAIT!

wahoo! sounds like fun....

I guess we've gone from burning through 1,000 posts in 4 days to going 4 days between responses. The Link Removed is busy, though. Folks seemed to have moved over there for gratuitous, free-range Lakland discussion.

you beat me to it Gus!!!! "free range"! LOL!!! brings up pictures of some chickens roaming around without a care in the world...or a GREAT FRIED chicken dinner!!! yummy!

hey Markus, can you update my dealie?
i'm playing with Mike Kelly, and with J_Dub & The Tease.

thanks! :)

also, i'm single and ready to mingle ;)

come and mingle at the LOG Trevor.....oh and Markus - get it done!!! (LOL!)

*slowly backs out of the thread*

LOL!

Their discussion reminds me too much of that old Escape (The Pina Colada Song) - Rupert Holmes song!!! now I cannot get it out of my mind!!! curse you!

actually - nice to be able to come here and "catch up" in a few minutes....although i cannot "wave" at the LOG....too many good threads to spend to much time on just one!

I'm a little late in sharing, but I represented Lakland well last weekend for our big street festival here in Asheville, NC (Bele Chere). Had a prime 6:30pm slot on Friday night. Played through a very classic SVT setup that was a little bright for my taste (crazy, I know), but worked out well. I ran into my VT Bass before the house and the amp, and it worked well. Sound quality in the vids isn't great, but at least you can get the idea. Enjoy...

GREAT job Bryan!!!

I am getting to like those 55-01s more and more every time I hear one...

One of the most underrated offerings in the Lakland camp, IMO. Most people change the guts out; I say leave them. That said, I've considered a change to an LH-3 with some ChiSonics once the drop-ins for the 44-01 are available, at least for one of my 44-01's. Not sure if I'll do it tho... I like the Barts too much.

Well, I picked up a Skyline Decade a couple of weeks ago and so far I really like it! Bought it from a guy out of S.C on Ebay, but outside of Ebay, at a very good price! He ended the auction early for me. This is my second Lakland, the other being a DJ I sold a few years back. Guess I need a Decade Club number and LOG number! (BTW, haven't taken any pics yet but we all know what it looks like. ;)

With 'buckers or singles? Active or passive? I've had a taste of both flavors, and they're the BOMB! CONGRATS!!!

55-01 and a Skyline Scheff 5 in Inca silver. Can I join?

That silver Scheff looks KILLER!! WELCOME!

Well, I've just recently gotten my Lakland stable up to a total of 8 basses: four 5ers and four 4 strings (2 BEAD and 2 EADG).

With Third Obsession back off the ground w/ our original vocalist, and 10 times the fire and energy than we had before (nearly losing a good thing tends to wake people up)... I've had to stop all side projects that I was gonna use the 4 strings with. Plus, I'm gathering money for my wedding and honeymoon. So, as you guys have probably noticed, some of my babies have popped up in the classifieds, and some cabs too. Shadowfax and the Tele (yes...:(...the Tele) are pending payments, my Pedulla Pentabuzz is already back in it's previous owners hands, I'm strongly considering trading Goblin for a Lakland 5er... and the Rootbeer Decade and Kobol could be gone at any time. Having killer basses that weren't getting attention.... well... it sucked honestly, so part of me feels good, VERY good about letting them go.

I'm going to do a family photo shoot today or tomorrow, before I have to start shipping them off. :)
