Sure seems to. I just finished beating the hell out of it (I'm learnin' me some slappin' right now) and nary a bzzt anywhere.
Nice to have a 55-02 back in the rotation, that's for sure.
Finally managed to get my hands on a 55-02 and it was awesome! It would complement my jazz bass VERY nicely. It's likely that one of those will be my next bass though that might not be for a while.

You're bound to really like it. Especially once you get into flipping the DIP switches to find the mids sweet spot for your playing.
Yes. It will. Your comments in the other thread were right on. It's similar enough, yet can be different with the flip of a switch. I don't keep tonal duplicates in my stable, but I do have a 55-60 and a 55-94 that each have their songs.
If you only knew how relentlessly he sought to get mine before he got his! He'll be buried w/ that bass.
Thanks man...Will do! This one is a lifer though...This bass with flats through my Walkabout rig is just a tone I can't live without.
Lakland wants the Skyline to be something more generally accepted, and feels that the split coil would be the pickup.

That's why there's the dunn and the glaub. The '51 is very redundant as a skyline with the split. I know the dimensions are a little different, but they should've gone all the way with it and done the single. I think anyone who would be into the aesthetics of the 51 would've been into the single. Everyone else will get a glaub or dunn.

I hear ya for sure...not up to me though. Maybe if there's enough interest they would consider it...I don't know though.
I WILL get my hands on a 44-51 one of these days....even if I have to sell my Duck to do it.....
