It's that band name, nat. After reading that in your sig, we just stand awestruck and can't speak or write anything coherent back to you. :D

I've never played with a ramp, so I really was just pullin' your chain.

Your jealousy of my band's amazing name is sooooo transparent :p

We're actually changing our name soon because of the parallels to Steel Panther, another humor-based rock band who is starting to really get some notoriety. Our new name is going to just be "UH!" which is our slogan/catch phrase/mantra/whatever

So if you think about it, the full name will actually be "UH! Formerly Known as Love Panther and the Sexual Prowess Formerly Known as Man Whore"

or, for brevity's sake "UH!FKALPATSPFKAMW"

:hiding:

:D

We're recording right now at Forge studios in Philly (awesome place btw - Invalid Link Removed), recording 3 tracks:

I Ain't Your Baby's Daddy
B!tch Get Out of My Bed
and
Jersey Shore Girl (Gave Me Crabs)

We're going to shop them around for soundtrack use primarily. It's a pretty exciting time right now. I tracked my 4-94 direct and through a vintage B-15; the tones are pretty freakin' thick and gnarly :bassist:

I'll put up links to free downloads once we get them all done and mixed, hopefully by the end of Dec/beginning of Jan.

you can get a pre-amp to drop into a 55-60 OR Carl Pedigo makes an LH3 stomp box which is really cool! I played around with the prototype for a few days with my JO5 and it sounded killer!

that may be the "fix" for you!~ :D:bassist:

True. The 55-60 looks like a good bet, but I prefer an active jazz with a side-mounted jack. Don't like the tops on the AJ series and they're not really traditional looking. If they offered an active skyline 55-60 with blocks and binding I'd be won over. So that's something else they could offer.

sorry to hear that....it has been back to Lakland at least once...right?

maybe they will do a swap if you cannot get rid of the issues.....

if not, you gotta do what is best for you....

OK, back on my soapbox again . . . for seven months I've owned a 2010 Vintage J 55-60 Custom (blocks and binding), and I still haven't fallen in love with it, nor have I got it to stop giving me warble notes in various areas of the fingerboard . . . it's kind of a warbling sound that almost imitates that the note being played is being played through an octave pedal . . . and an out of tune note at that. I've tried 4 sets of strings, changed my technique to play the banjo frets with little finger pressure . . . I've done a setup, and have had a setup done on it! I'm done . . . don't like it! I have a gig this coming Sat and have to use it, as in many songs, I use the B string . . . Cross Canadian Ragweed stuff and others!

So, I'm going to tune and intonate as tight as I can for Saturday, then Sunday . . . it goes on Craigslist! I'm going back to Fender - an American Jazz Deluxe V string or an American Precision V string! Sorry Lakland, I tried, but have been "putting up" with this bass long enough!

changing weather does WIERD things to necks....changing weather wrecks havoc....

be careful with the truss rod though...only 1/4 turn at a time!

Got out Carl Pedigo's videos and going over the bass with a fine-tooth comb . . . so far, usig an 18 inch steel rule, the neck needs some relief . . . I have until Sat night to get it together . . . saddles, string heights, pickups . . . gonna do it all (AGAIN). Why has it changed so much . . . the weather?

Came to my senses and decided to keep the Lakness Monster, although RumbleBeeAL did manage to snatch the black bridge during my madness

Decided to play it one last time and recorded some tracks tonight which sealed the deal - just couldn't let it go.

And let the "I told you, you'd be back" comments begin...

I just finished a track with my 55-01. It's as far as I can go by myself. Next comes the Guitar players Guitar and voice. then ...who knows maybe I'll cut it up if the arrangement calls for it.
It's the song "Work" (Yeah.... I know.... Bernard Odum and some Fresh Cream on top)
