VERY cool!!!

congrats!!!

My buddy (and tech) restrung my new Lakland Skyline 44-64 Custom (Special Edition) with some Sadowsky flats. He took it out on a gig tonight (he's bringing it back to me tomorrow). He texted me from the gig and said that the bass with flats was just outsanding! He described the sound changing from really bright P to super fat and focused, nice old school vibe and just amazing with a little overdrive dialed in. Can't wait to try it out with the flats!

I'm not a huge fan of matching headstocks either....especially on Precision basses. Those are not supposed to be fancy at all.

WHO says!!!???

PS = Johnny...REALLY nice to see you hanging around again!!!

hope y9ou get the Lakland P of your dreams soon!!!! (really!)

Same here. Makes 'em look too... I dunno; custom?

hush hush J!!!!

shuudap wid da "custom" comments....:D

Lakland owners.....been a long time owner of a USA 5594 for 11+ years. Love it, my fav bass!! Got a couple of questions though....I am getting a Skyline JOBO 4 in inca silver. I am thinking about putting black hardware on this bass. So my question is,

What is the preferred method for "blacking out" the Lakland bridge?

I am thinking some type of powder coat or electrical application would be ideal. I just wonder how a paint job like this holds up. FWIW, I prob won't do the saddles. I might etch the saddles. On second though, I wonder how dark the bridge plate would get by etching?

Love them on the two glaubs I have, and they don't ask for caviar or anything:-)

Hehe!!!

Goblin used to ask for a glass of scotch and a bag of Doritos.... strange mix huh?

that was dinner tonight for me...what is the problemo????

You should see what they demand when they have blocks and bindings.

He he....my Lakland BG5 PJ with B&B is pretty happy - thank you VERY much!!! I keep it satisfied......it does not have a matching headstock....but it is 3 TB....otherwise it WOULD have a matching headstock....

A single round in .270 Winchester is all it took...

right AFTER you shot the moose you were sending me to fill my freezer????

oh wait....that would take a MUCH bigger bullet.....

And brunettes with light green or ice blue eyes as a matter of fact ;) hahahaha!!

you are gettin my HOT...stop it!!!!

PS - I married a blond BUT have a soft spot for brunettes with green or blue eyes....ice blue????? I am in TROUBLE!!!!

May I please have a number for this august group? My Lakland Skyline Hollowbody arrived yesterday:

done....GREAT bass!!! welcome and congrats!!!

I got your P's skinnier brother on the way. And oh ya', it's gonna get Lakland Flats for sure.

If anything, we're a bunch of April fools...

SAD but true....SAD but true....:atoz:

Hey, has anyone here tried a satin refinish on a lakland? I have an 07 in natural flame but tend to prefer a satin finish as opposed to the high polish, is this a good option on the USA series?

DO NOT cover up that flame top!!!!! EVER!!!! you have teh ONLY flame top -07 tht exists!!! this was made for a special person.....if you cover it up, the black choopers will beall over you!!!!

Satin clear coat??? acceptable....but bareley....

What's happened to Terry? He used to be all over there threads.

GREAT question....I had this asked of me tonight on the phone from another LOGger...not sure....maybe business not doing so well or wife got on him....as far as i knowhe has 1-2 basses and has had them for a loooooonnnnnngggg time (i.e, greater than 2 months)....

maybe it is time for a "hey Terry" phone call....you recon?

QC needs his help!!!!

Don't take anything I say too seriously.

don't worry....we never do....:p:D

Don't diffuse until the b1tchslaps start flying. This is TB, after all...

LMAO J...........LMAO

I'll have to do that. I'm planning to be up that way sometime in the spring assuming that Florida doesn't freeze into an iceburg before then. Thanks for the tip.

come on up!!! make sure to let GregC and I know when you do...we are the CHI-town welcomng committee...(truth is...we are ALWAYS looking for a reason to get to Lakland....)

If I ran down the street nekkid, I'll be they'd send me a t-shirt so they'd never have to see that again. LOLOL. But seriously, I'd drop $20 - $25 on a Lakland t-shirt.

LOL!!!! will send them an email and see if shirts are in the offering!!!

I second that, I'd drop 20-30.. but then I'd also have to pay for shipping over here.. meh, worth it :)

just fer giggles, here's a comment from a local music store guy when I was checking out new strings for my "soon to be with me" 4-07 today.

"Lakeland? I think it's pronounced Lak.. land. It's a european brand right? isn't Lapland in scandanavia?"

yes.. yes he was serious :rollno:

OMG!!!! that is hillarious!!!! yeah! european....:rollno::confused:

Hey all, I'm thinking of getting a few mods done to my 07. Been watching the friedland LOG vids, and saw his blurb on the passive tone control and figured that might be a good addition, but what about something like a phase switch as well? I use effect pedals, for various envelope, drive, octave, fuzz and overdrive tones, so I figure a phase switch may come in handy for these. Anyone installed one in a 07 or a 94? Or maybe you can think of another addition to the controls. Fire when ready hehe :D

the passive tone knob is WELL worth it! if you do it, make sure it is active in active mode as well (as mine is)....adds alot to the tone.....mine was wired as a "mistake" that way...Carl Pedigo wanted to fix it and I said NO WAY!!!

as for a phaser switch...email [email protected] first...those CHIs are interasting beasts....not sure how they would react to that feature.....and Carl knows them inside and out....he could tell you what MAY happen with a phase....

see there is the chrome passive tone knob chillin in the middle of the others...

Dan..stop it!!! all you want to do is show off your new bass!!! at elast get another one so you can show 2-3 Lakland's at teh same time...sheesh!!!! (JK!~!!!)

NICE!!!

I believe Hipshot already makes a black lakland bridge (if you ask nicely!)

an inca silver with black hardware would be hot hot hot...

yea yea yea....I AM getting another, that Scheff that lands tuesday next week from AZ.

And have two more U.S. Laklands in the works as we speak. the minute my 3 basses sell that are all listed right now for sale all over the place...I pull the trigger on the two additional US Lakies the same day. They are being held for me. Once I get the 2 additional US basses the Scheff might go up on the block? ya just never know? bwaaahahahaha!! ( mad scientist laughter ) :eyebrow:

oh come on"just a skyline"????? many people would KILL for a top as nice as that!!!!

maybe a trans top???

It's not like it's 4A quilt... and nothing compares to Marty's sparkle.

Never heard a person in the audience say "look at that quilt top" but M'Falice always gets remarks.

send a pm to Kinetic Shadow. he is on here ....scroll back a page or two to find his post. He has a Stealthy Skyline. He HAD a black painted lakland logo-ed bridge on it. I think he mentioned removing it for one reason or the other ....and selling it to someone else here.

But ask those guys...they can hook ya up with details and info you seek. good luck
