Hey guys. I picked up a USA glaub. Strange to me, the tuners are reverse acting. Turn toward you to tighten. Is that normal?

Doude or Markus can confirm, but many references to the Glaub mention reverse geared tuners. Not sure if that was US only, Glaub only, or what.

This last pic shows a few that are now gone :crying: 1) the tele bass prototype 2) one of the Decade 5er prototypes 3) a rare 35" scale BEAD 4-76 (stingray style in black) and 4) my skyline Glaub that had a matching headstock done by Pat Wilkins... one of my sexiest basses ever IMO. Markus' son now has it. The fretless 55-02 and Traci (tobacco burst 55-94) are still w/ me.

The US tuners on the Glaub and Osborn were vintage style reverse tuners. I am not sure if the US 44-60 and 44-64 carried on the tradition but I would assume they did.

If you hate reverse tuning just shoot me a PM and I will take the Glaub off your hands.

Yeah..... I keep looking 'cause I want a bound & Blocked neck..... but I don't really want a Jazz..... sigh.... it all moot to me... I love my 55-01 as it is... plays and sounds as nice or nicer than any other Bass I've ever owned and I got it for 713.00 w/shipping from Amazon....

Hey all, just pulled the trigger on a laky 4-07 that Trabeen was selling. Natural flame maple, rosewood and chi's.. oh my! lol It's making it's way over to me in New Zealand, I'll let y'all know how it goes when she gets here. Personally I can't wait to try the neck, cause I like the skyline's but I had an opportunity to try a fellow bassists JO usa and hollllllly, the neck felt sooo nice, satiny smooth and a perfectly rolled board.. and the other 'can't wait' aspect is the chi's.. don't get me wrong I like the bart's and lak's own 4-94 pup's but I have always been a fan of darkstars, and from what my ears tell me, these are basically stars but with a modern twist. Anyway, if there's a number flying around feel free to hit me with it.. or I'll wait till my 07 get's here.. too long.. to.. wait lol :hyper:

oh and does anyone know what model hipshot d-tuner these can take?

Hey congrats! I just bought my 44-07 US. ( my first Lakland )
I gotta tell ya it is a fantastic bass! The neck is amazing. The Chi buckers blow the house down. Great stuff all the way around. You are psyched! :hyper:
I saw the bass ya bought in the for sale thread. Truly a beautiful 44-07....congrats! :bassist:

hey thanks man, like I said I'll be waiting for customs to call me like we never had xmas lol

and yeah, that's the reason I wanted a chi lakland, my band plays alt/hard rock and the bart's are a bit too tame for my taste, plus I'm a fan of classic rock and that old-school gibson/guild/framus/hagstom bucker sound so I reckon the chi's are gonna fit me just fine.. and as 'the bass whisperer' ed says "if I put flats on this it would level a city block".. well what dy'a know I happen to have a new set of roto flats right here.. guess where these are going :smug:

oh and btw, good work getting that 07, I was keeping my eye on it and you snapped it up before me lol funny how these things work out init? :p

Yea I had my eye on the one I picked up for like a week or so. When it did not move, I began asking questions to Lakland people behind the scenes learning about the brand and that model in particular....then one afternoon BAM!! went for it. hahaha!

Was actually looking at the one you grabbed too. It would have been cool having one 44-07 with the maple board and one with rosewood.
These 44-07's I am told are not an easy bass to find out there in the endless sea of basses.
But I am on a mission to pick me up a minty US Decade with dual Chi singles... ( so TRYING to stay focused on that)
Just trying to sell two of my basses on here and on ebay as we speak. Once they are sold...I will be the proud owner of one killer US Decade!
