Thank you.

There is "THAT" picture again......sheesh! (or is it...wipe the sweat from my brow and drool from my lip (for the bass of course)???)

Starting 2012 with the big three.
Are more in store? We shall see.

Family-2011.gif

Rack space might need to be opened up to add more Laklands.
Or...I could just get more racks. :)

This last pic shows a few that are now gone :crying: 1) the tele bass prototype 2) one of the Decade 5er prototypes 3) a rare 35" scale BEAD 4-76 (stingray style in black) and 4) my skyline Glaub that had a matching headstock done by Pat Wilkins... one of my sexiest basses ever IMO. Markus' son now has it. The fretless 55-02 and Traci (tobacco burst 55-94) are still w/ me.

Nice and subtle Johnny!!!:D

there is a decent looking black skyline in the classifieds ...not a US bass but....

The US tuners on the Glaub and Osborn were vintage style reverse tuners. I am not sure if the US 44-60 and 44-64 carried on the tradition but I would assume they did.

If you hate reverse tuning just shoot me a PM and I will take the Glaub off your hands.

maybe the "slow" change in temperatures (really hot to frigid) will not shock the neck and she will not need a set up when she gets there....you know....if it were shipped "fast" she might need a set up!

I REALLY think you will like this one Dan!!!

Tick Tick Tick...............
Is it January 10th YET????
IMpatiently waiting for my Scheff to land.
She is on the big brown truck on the long road from Arizona to New yawk.
Darn Holiday delays.
But at least it is underway and she arrives next tuesday the 10th :D

Way to go Dan! You need a gold Decade to compliment that Scheff lol.

Yessss sir-eee I DO NEED a US gold decade.:hyper:

IF my 2 basses that are for sale ever sell????

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/...ibson-hard-case-1-month-old-beautiful-838211/

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/...tch-blonde-birdsyeye-board-w-case-wow-839247/

(Worst time of year to sell, after Christmas)
The money is going to a Gold Decade.

Not sure which one of the two gold Decades in consideration, just yet...But for sure that is the reasoning behind letting go of these two as new killer basses and thus suffering the loss of buying them both brand new....ughhhhhhhhhh :(

MAJOR CONGRATS on a sweet bass!

I can assign thee LOGger number 413! wear it loud and proud!!

also - have you visited: Link Removed yet??

Hey all, just pulled the trigger on a laky 4-07 that Trabeen was selling. Natural flame maple, rosewood and chi's.. oh my! lol It's making it's way over to me in New Zealand, I'll let y'all know how it goes when she gets here. Personally I can't wait to try the neck, cause I like the skyline's but I had an opportunity to try a fellow bassists JO usa and hollllllly, the neck felt sooo nice, satiny smooth and a perfectly rolled board.. and the other 'can't wait' aspect is the chi's.. don't get me wrong I like the bart's and lak's own 4-94 pup's but I have always been a fan of darkstars, and from what my ears tell me, these are basically stars but with a modern twist. Anyway, if there's a number flying around feel free to hit me with it.. or I'll wait till my 07 get's here.. too long.. to.. wait lol :hyper:

oh and does anyone know what model hipshot d-tuner these can take?

I have been watching it but it's for trade not for sale AND I am going to wait a bit to see if I can score a US one. If for some reason I wander into an older LPB Skyline Glaub then I will probably pick up another Skyline as a backup. That is my plan if I get a US one too but if I go that route I will get the Skyline sometime later this year.

And speaking of black Skylines....has this video been posted before?

I tell ya I wish I was leaving New York and heading out to Arizona, till like ummm MAY! hahaha!!:D
Not a fan of winter blues...5 months of blahhhh :spit:

I hope her trip is a smooth one and she plays well upon arrival.:bassist:

I hear ya!!! sounds like a good plan!

nope...never seen that video before.....something both "wierd" and comforting about watching an icon Like Bob playing with a recording!!!

Also - that is a Skyline.....speaks volumes about the quality...

Yeah I have, haven't joined up yet on account of not actually having the bass.. just.. yet.. dammit.. but I will do.. and then order a laky gig bag, and get a d-tuner sorted, and it's a shame lakland don't offer t-shirts for sale.. or do they? :hmm:

oh and thanks a bunch fer the number, gonna go put it on now and run down the street nekkid

I only have one Lakland for now, but I do love my baby.

Over the Christmas holidays, I paid a visit to Bass Club Chicago and played five or six other Laklands. There are definitely more Laklands in my future, but there are so many lovelies to choose from that I'm not sure which one(s) it will be.

Bob played on the actual recording, too, 35 years ago.:)

Thanks for the vid, Johnny! I had that album on vinyl, I need to revisit it.

Great basses and pics, everyone! Some real beauties out there! JJ, good to see you posting again, man.:)

Nice! Bass Club's a great store, Mark is a cool guy to deal with. Next time you plan to come up this way, contact Lakland and set up a time to stop by! They're all great folks there, and the shop isn't far from Bass Club's new digs.
