That's funny! But now you've done it!

Keeping on topic...my Burg Mist, Ebony fretted US 44-94 should be here very soon!

Yikes man ya said THE word...lol :)
Thought the end result of that could be like a vampire looking into the light??? no? :D:D:D

It's okay, he hyphenated it - total different head.

How long is the wait on uh... custom-ordered Laklands, anyway? My S******y was supposed to be 8 months. Is Lakland about on par with that?

Leo told me about 4.5 months, could be because the one I'm getting really isn't that far out of normal spec, no quilted top, etc. Don't know, but that is what I was quoted.

J, the wait times are shorter than they used to be. For my Glaub, I asked them to wait a bit for a light alder body, they shaved the neck to 1 and 5/8", and I got abalone blocks. Still only took 5 months, maybe a few days less.

*Ordered in mid-July, got it in mid-December.

You're always welcome to ask in PM. Even I find some of the dating drama highly amusing now that there's some time between the incident and today.

done!

When one is as fundamentally and spectacularly awesome as I am, all the dating stories sound like epic tales of might and magic.

Well, that's my story, anyway..,

for whom J2? for whom?:eyebrow:

I am guessing for you...:D

that's MY bass!! :-/

You asked for it, so if your ears bleed, don't be whining. 'Kay?

Mary Jane's Last Dance.mpg - YouTube

Three In One Jam.mpg - YouTube

That 3 in 1 was supposed to be nothing more than a simple run of Werewolves of London. The guys decided to mess with me though, and they sang every song that has ever sampled that riff - mismatching the lyrics and choruses, and basically trying to mess with my head. Which they succeeded in doing as you can see in the video. LOL.

thanks for sharing! sounds GREAT! when you play enough you realize how many songs ahve teh SAME chord progression or were "borrowed".... :)

we just gotta get you a different shirt to wear!

you got the makin's of a band there...really!

Tell us about the "Tattoo'd Heart". There has to be a story 'bout that.

(pictures may be required)

maybe? must be...as long as they are "safe" to post....

Thanks to my fine Lakland bass,
I got #999 problems...
But my pitch ain't one!!

join the crowd...I have 1000s of troubles (playing and not playing)....but it is NOT the instrument!

shorter....they are getting MUCH more efficient and are "putting pressure" on their suppliers to speed things up a bit...

He DID! didn't he???? yikes!:eek::scowl::rollno::help:

maybe the Mayans were right! the world will end in 2012!

I knew that was going to happen. I was going to say 'semi-custom,' but really, if the evil word's not attached to a totally off-the-shelf bass/truck/whatever, I'm not as discombobulated over it.

sure..sure..wahatever!

OK - the Skyline fretless began life as a fretted model.

This was owned by Tom (BigRed6). My JO5CS was "on order" and I wanted a J bass "temporarily" as I had just sold my DJ5.

Also, I had just sold my '89 RIC to the bass player for Matt Nathanson...so I had some cash in my pocket.

Tom (BigRed6) met me downtown as I was staying overnight at a hotel (GregC and I got "special" tickets to see Matt Nathanson that night...GREAT SHOW BTW! ...shared a box with Robbie Gould and his girl friend...that is another story since I am a Packer Fan....anyways back on target)...

...picked it up from Tom and we chatted a bit.....teh bass was MUCH nicer looking than in the pictures...I think the tort guard had something to do with it...the original guard was black...

anyhow....by the time the JO5CS came I was really digging the Skyline JO....

After I got JADE (teal JJ with abalone blocks) I could not "really" justify 3 J basses so it either had to go or "be transformed"....decided to mod it to a fretless (with an Indo neck whcih is an awesome neck!)

so...it stays and will stay.....

also, I really do love natural wood basses...so I need at least one...

so.....the "temporary" bass has been a keeper for several years now and will be for years to come....

(pictures may be required)

Of course there's a story. :D

In a nutshell.....

Many many moons ago, I worked for my best friend in his tattoo studio. He did the real work, I handled the back office and front desk. He gave me a place to hide out to ride out a really bad ending to my last marriage. I was pretty broken after that - he tagged me with the nickname "Heart" because he said I had a really big one. One of the regular clients stuck on the "Tattoo'd" part during all the hours where we'd hang out after the shop closed and work on my ink. (Three small tats and a full backpiece) It stuck.
