BTW - can you keep them at Lakland and not on Michigan avenue buying shoes?this is shopping heaven (next to NY) you know!
We'll either come in early or stay after to shop for shoes. Probably early so we can change them over and over and over and over during the GTG.

Okay guys - I think it's happening. Last Sunday's jam sort of gelled up into something bigger than it's been. A day of firsts for me...

Full story on the LOG BUT I just swapped some older Lakie SS rounds from my Skyline JO5 fretless and put the namesake flats on the Skyline...MUCH better combo BOTH ways!
I am even MORE in love now ....it has some epic dynamics with the dual humbuckers and dual tap switches!

Can anybody tell me anything about the 2010 Skyline 44-60 LTD? The one that came in green with the bound & blocked rosewood neck...
I have a line on one locally, and I'll probably go and check it out today. I've been looking for a J bass lately, but I haven't decided on what exactly. I've been checking out Fender, Lull, Lakland, G&L, and pretty much anything else I can find. I'm leaning towards a Lull M4V right now, but I won't be able to play one locally before I buy...and it's probably the more expensive option of everything I'm looking at.
Then I found this Lakland, and I've always heard good things about them. I'm not exactly in love with the color, or the blocks, but I'll give it a chance. I just can't find much in terms of specs and such, or reviews in general.

these are GREAT basses in look, build, and sound.....as for the color, that can be changed...Pat Wilkins does refin's at a decent price.
several people have them and love them. ufortnately you have to go through alot of posts here to find the reviews.

I'm so fed up with fedex right now.. The new Glaub has been lying in the local pick up place for three days but i'm not allowed to pick it up. Apparently fedex have a new system, and something went wrong when i payed the import taxes, the money was charged from my account but fedex insist that they hasn't even been able to charge it from my visa, even though my bank have sent them proof.. What a friggggiiiin mess..
Wow, I've read through I don't know how many pages of these threads and I think you guys have me convinced to try out a new DJ5. I'm thinking a white DJ5 with the maple fingerboard and a J-Retro pre might be the ticket. I've only been serious about playing the bass for less than a year and I've already gone through several basses looking for a sound that I love. I had an older DJ5 that I bought with Lindy Fralin's and I think the tone was a little too "vintage" for my taste. I sold it and moved on but recently started doing a little reading on Lakland again and realized that the Fralin's have a vintage tone and that the stock pups with a j-retro will be much more aggressive and punchy. I love the looks and playability of the DJ so if I can get the tone I want it will be a win-win. I was in the process of ordering an MTD KZ5 with the upgraded Bart pups and pre, but I don't know now....
I'm a new owner of a 2011 55-02 Deluxe and am waiting for my first date, lol. Never played one but have had many Peavey Millenniums, and all the Peavey guys refer them to the Lakies. I read Invalid Link Removed several times, and have always considered a Lakie. After many years, I got tired of the mid-sweep on the Milly and how difficult it is to dial in a room. So I decided to sell em all and start with a new brand.
I'd like a LOG# and to ask a question...
How does the LH3 and Lakland pickups compare to the Bartolini stuff they used just a few years ago??

the lakland pickups and J-retro will give you a more modern sound....get one....the worst that can happen? you can sell it.,..it will go fast...
make sure to post pics and ask for a LOG number when you get it!
