Nice bass, very similar to my 5 string. I love mine just the way it is, simple controls and no pickguard.

'01s are indeed the cheapest as to retail price, and they have bartolini pickups and pre-amp versus in-house Hansons, but does not necessarily mean a "lower line".

I assumed the $300-$400 price difference meant it was a lower end model

I have a question regarding my 55-94:

I have had it for about 3 months now, it is an unbelievable instrument by the way, but I have one small issue with it. The bass sounds noisy when plugged into my amplifier unless I touch something metal on the bass; this makes me think it's a grounding issue. But, when I have the front MM pickup selected only, it is quiet as can be. So, my conclusion is that the neck pickup is either naturally noisy or it has an issue. Any suggestions?

sounds like a ground issue on the neck pickup....I forget....is it NEW 3 months ago?

email [email protected] and see what they can do...they SHOULD fix it one way or another...

Finally? I reply to your posts, and even talked to John to get you the correct answers and this is what I get? Or did you mean, you finally looked at the website? ;)

I couldn't get the models to loss on my phone. I meant, I finally understand the difference between 01 & 02. Thanks for you're help too, though

Thanks for the reply, and yes it is new as of 3 months ago. I know it's under warranty, but I don't want to send it back unless it has a real problem, which I guess it has a grounding issue in the neck pickup. If I do send it to Lakland, I will wait until summer is over to ship it to them. I'd hate to send it in this Texas heat.

Love the print on your wall. Can't see much of it, but I'm getting an eagle vibe off it (Looks like a curved beak). Am I right?

Wow, you're good! It is an eagle - I'm impressed you can tell from that little bit.

Love these man!

Me too, USA Laklands with ChiSonics are just amazing.

I was hoping to get a 4-94 just like the gold 5 string but they couldn't make one with a wide P neck so they offered to do it on the P body. Great sounding bass with a nice light swamp ash body.
