Also, I was planning on getting the .130 for the low B string. This wont be a problem for the fit on the nut will it? My dad put too thick of gauge on his carvin guitar and as he was stringing it the nut gave and a piece flew off. This wont happen with a .130 B string on the 55-02 will it? Should I stick with .125?

100% positive they are long enough to string though the body. You may need to file the nut as it is wider, but the plastic nuts are forgiving, and I think they ship with a .128 B.

For the record, I'be been using a DR Nickel lowrider 40-120's for about 8 months now and the B still sounds thunderous :-)

Not sure I will go down that road. I hope to stumble upon 'my' good fretless when I least expect it, sort of. I'm keeping a lookout on the used market.

Thanks for all the nice comments on my stable, btw. Less then two years ago I had 15 or so basses, some of which very nice (Gibson Triumph, Peavey T-40, Ric 4003). These however, are the true survivors.

I had s T40 and a 4003 myself......
The T40 was my first new bass....regret selling it for sentimental reasons
...called it 'the TANK" for obvious reasons

Miss the 4003 because of the tone....could never get comfortable with the neck for some reason

You sure had a relatively quick house clearing

My problem is that i have 10 and love them all for various reasons....

Bummer! A buddy of mine was scheduled to fly into O'Hare at 4:15 today, wonder if he's been delayed as well. Guess I'll find out later.

Last week, I've decided that my Lakie is my main gigging bass, especially when I don;t know what kind of PA I'm going to encounter. The vintage Fender is fantastic but doesn't suit all locations. The Lakie just always works :)

I used it two weeks ago at a radio gig:
