Guess I'll get mine in this one.

USA! USA! USA! My USA Lakies. And as of a minute ago, my "Nakie Lakies", no guards as they're being sent off to Mike Quick to get some nice replacements.

The 3TS will have a cream/white pearloid guard, and goldie will get a black with gold sparkle...however, I must say that they look REAL nice nakie.

That being said, I STRONGLY suggest doing business with Mike (www.quickguards.com) if you're looking for a new guard. It IS a little annoying that he doesn't have every template ever like the JPG guy, but there's no fee to send him a tracing or original guard and he'll do a fantastic job for a reasonable price. Plus he has been awesome to me every time I've talked guards with him.

Five stars, thumbs up, whatever. Check him out.

For good measure, here's a pic of my DPLEII that he did a guard for. Can you say hot? ...Yep.

Here you go Texan.

The Lakness Monster at Sverd i fjell just outside of Stavanger.

Behold Lakhenge! Or Lakland in Mountain.

I love the shadow one. It fits, all are weapons of mass destruction.

Very true. Last time I was here I did not make it to this monument, its really the only thing that I wanted to see. I booked my flight a day early just be sure that I had time to see it. This is a truly breath taking country. Sverd I Fjell was the best part of the trip, and I'm only two days into it. It's all business and sand dunes from here on out.

Funny story, I had to take a bus to get to Sverd I Fjell and then walk along Hafrsfjord for about 1.5km to get to the monument. Along the rocky shore there was what I thought was a lingere shoot in progress. Naturally, I stop to admire the local landscape for a bit and the after a few minutes...well lets just say that they think nothing of nudity here. :D and as luck would have it, my camera died so I only got PG-13 shots :crying:

I did go to a local music shop yesterday and the owner was fascinated that I had Laklands. He asked for an honest opinion on how they compare to Fenders and wanted to know if the hype was really true. I told him that to me, a Fender was like a Chevy, it will get you where you are going and is pretty nice. But the Laklands are like an Aston Martin, fast, well refined, elegant, will do everything the Chevy will do, but better and will do many things that the Chevy can't...well, I had to keep this thread on topic somehow...

IMHO I like the feel and sound BETTER than a Fender.....the pickups (NOW) are Hanson pickups...BUT you can get them in a vintage or modern sounding model.

here are the specs:

I have a Skyline (fretless) and a US model (with CHIsonics) and love them both!

sorry you do not have easy access to one....I am sure if you contact Lakland at : [email protected] they can figure out a way to get one to you (or lead you to a dealer who can ship one to you).

good luck!

Thank you so much for the info.. :hyper:

I was super quiet last thread and I was still 15 in posts? Wow.

Because TB is full of maniacal gear flippers who will never, ever be completely happy with what they have as long as the next shiny object is out there.

Oops, did I say that out loud?:hiding:

Heh. Once I own it, it's kind of hard to let it go, so I just keep acquiring. I just pulled the trigger on #9. It's kinda like shoes...I have at least a dozen pairs in black, but there's something awesome about every pair that requires that I keep them all. ;)

I just got to my hotel in Norway...I wish I would have brought one of my Lakies...somebody superimpose a Lakie into this pic from the window of my hotel...

Gorgeous view!

On it!

Edit: The Lakness Monster Strikes Norway!
Maybe not what you had in mind, but couldn't resist :D
